Nicole Rose’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Nicole Rose. Check out our conversation below.

Nicole, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. Who are you learning from right now?
Right now, I’m learning from myself. Experience is the true mother sometimes. The one who teaches me what no one else can. Every mistake, every achievement, every quiet realization is shaping me into someone I’m finally proud to learn from.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Nicole Rose, a modern poet and storyteller who uses style and vulnerability to redefine what femininity looks like today. My poetry books may look like fashion accessories on the outside, but inside they hold the raw truths of growing into yourself. I have built a creative brand that is equal parts beauty, emotion, and feminine empowerment. Right now I am working on a children’s book and turning my poetry into music, because my voice refuses to fit in one category. Everything I create is for the girls who are still becoming, still evolving, and still finding the magic in who they are.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
I wouldn’t say it was one defining moment. It was a collection of experiences over time that shaped how I see the world. Little lessons, big realizations, and quiet moments of truth. I became a lover of honesty. When you stop running from what is real and you accept it, even if it is bitter, it becomes powerful. Life gets easier to navigate when you embrace the truth instead of fearing it.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped fearing my pain when I realized it could become art. Poetry does the emotional work for me. I don’t have to constantly carry everything I have lived through in my everyday life, because writing becomes my release. My poems feel the feelings so I don’t have to stay overwhelmed by them. It gives me a safe outlet to let go of everything, which turns pain into power instead of something that controls me.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Everyone will have a different version of me in their mind, and that is their right. Opinions are not the truth. I know who the real me is, and whether people agree with that or misunderstand me is honestly none of my business. The version of me that matters is the one I know when I am alone.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I am alone and writing. I love being in my own little world, creating worlds. It fascinates me how the mind can escape and build something softer when reality feels unkind. I even wrote about that in my poetry book Utopia. When the world was unkind I created a new one. That inner universe, where my imagination leads and I follow, is where I feel the safest and most free.
