tink lockett’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with tink lockett and have shared our conversation below.

Hi tink, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
My journey creatively has been life long, and on and off. Photography and also massage therapy, so energy has always played a huge part in my life.
Massage was a major priority as work in my 20s for 22 years, having a break for a while, and seeing what photography bought, but it wasn’t till my 40s i took the plunge into my creative life full time.

so staying true and aligning with energy is still a huge part in my journey, and reflected in my work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My photography is fashion/runway focused.

I have a love for creating and love the fast pace of runway, meeting some incredible people with the same passion behind their work, is so rewarding.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Being very spiritually open at the time, my mum passed away, that was a huge catalyst to change, people around me, path /career and do some hard work within myself.
Finding the mentor to help me was a step, and the rest was up to me.
Years on life could not be more clear and amazing.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I think as a creative, we all have times of wanting to give up, and i have had plenty.
One birthday i gave myself 365 days, things had to change of i was selling all my gear. A shift in mindset had to change, a shift it what i wanted and also where did i fit in, and what is success.
these were all part of the equation, i take achievements and or ahha moments in my stride, when others see them a massive moments, feeling i am out here just doing it, and how i know to, whether that is the right or wrong way to go about a career.
The moments you gather do push you to stay on some sort of focus and keep that want for more ticking along.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
i try to stay pretty real, i think its important.
Social media doesn’t help as people do make up the story about who and how you are going.

I just navigate best way possible , and keep myself and my path in a place that makes me happy.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people see I lived in a truthful way, i was lucky that i knew my own spiritual connection and i have totally followed paths in career and also some choices that have allowed such fulfilment, and also been given second chances to reconnect, especially with photography and do what i loved, just a lot later in life, just had to be done different.
There is always time, just may not always be on your terms, so stay open to the journey.
