James Glenn Jr shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi James, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Outside of work, I am currently enjoying my son’s sports journey. He recently concluded a outstanding football season, excelling as quarterback and guiding his team to the playoffs. Up next is basketball season, and his team is shaping up to be very strong.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is James Glenn Jr., and I am the owner of Glenn’s Transport and Assembly, LLC, a company built on reliability, precision, and genuine care for the people we serve. What started as a small operation has grown into a trusted multi-service brand specializing in home theater installation, TV mounting, furniture assembly, fitness equipment setup, outdoor structures, saunas, trampolines, pergolas, playsets, gazebos, and specialty transport jobs.
What makes our company unique is our commitment to treating every project like it’s being done in our own home. We know how important it is for families to feel safe, taken care of, and confident that the job is done right the first time. Our work is not just about tools and equipment — it’s about helping people create better spaces, safer homes, and stress-free experiences.
Over the years, we’ve become known for our white-glove service, fast response times, and the ability to handle the jobs other companies won’t or can’t. Whether it’s a complex sauna installation, an oversized trampoline, a heavy exercise machine, or a delicate home theater system, we bring professionalism and expertise to every step.
Right now, our team is continuing to expand, taking on more commercial contracts, larger projects, and specialized transport jobs around Pennsylvania and New Jersey. We’re constantly investing in better equipment, better training, and better customer experience because I believe in building a brand that lasts — one built on trust, quality, and consistency.
At the end of the day, Glenn’s Transport and Assembly, LLC isn’t just a business — it’s a reflection of my work ethic, my journey, and my dedication to providing real value to real people.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad taught me about the value of hard work from a young age. I remember him waking up before dawn every day, working tirelessly to support our family. Over the years, through dedication and perseverance, he advanced all the way to reach a top executive role in a major corporation, demonstrating the rewards of relentless effort.
When did you last change your mind about something important?
I spent years locked into a long-term contract with a major company — and at first, it felt like a huge win. But over time, I could see the shift: they wanted more control, more say, more ownership over the work I built from the ground up. I had poured so much into that partnership that somewhere along the way, my own business identity started to fade.
So I made a powerful decision: I walked away.
I cut ties, rebranded, and rebuilt my momentum from scratch — on my terms. And that move changed everything.
Today, I’m proud to say that the new contracts and partnerships I’ve created have taken us further than anything in the past ever could. The growth is bigger. The opportunities are better. And the brand is stronger than ever.
Sometimes leveling up requires letting go — and that decision became the launchpad for the next chapter of my success.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
What people see publicly is the version of me that leads, builds, and gets things done. It’s the part of me that shows up for my customers, my team, and my family with confidence and purpose. That version is real — the work ethic, the focus, the commitment, the integrity… that’s all me.
But like anyone else, there’s more beneath the surface. The public version is the polished snapshot; the private version is the full story — the grind, the sacrifices, the late nights, the doubts, and the growth that made me who I am.
Both sides are real.
One is what the world sees.
The other is what drives me when no one’s watching.
And together, they make me stronger, sharper, and more intentional about everything I do — in business and in life.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
People will see the success — the businesses, the contracts, the growth — and think it all came from talent or luck. They’ll misunderstand the weight behind it…the struggle, the failures, the reinventions, the moments I had to rebuild myself and my brand from the ground up.
They’ll see the results, but they won’t truly grasp the sacrifice:
the late nights, the pressure of providing, the responsibility of carrying two companies, the personal battles no one talks about, and the discipline it takes to keep pushing forward when life tries to pull you back.
Most people will underestimate how much I had to walk away from, how much I had to outgrow, and how much I had to choose myself to get here.
My legacy won’t just be about the businesses I built — it’ll be about the obstacles I overcame that nobody saw, the decisions I made that changed everything, and the way I kept moving even when quitting might’ve been easier.
People will misunderstand the process,
but they won’t be able to ignore the impact.
