An Inspired Chat with Aubrie of Richmond, Virginia

Aubrie shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Aubrie , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
The biggest thing people don’t realize about Breezzy’s Lemonade is that we’re literally squeezing every lemon by hand — like, for real! Every single order is made fresh and counted down to the very last drop. That’s why we don’t usually have “extras” just hanging out in the truck… everything we make is made for YOU! 🍋✨

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey everyone! I’m Aubrie but around my city, everybody knows me as Breezzy’s. I’m the creator of Breezzy’s Lemonade, a family-owned lemonade company that’s all about good vibes and fresh flavors. I’m 17 now, but I actually started this whole journey at just 11 years old… yup, that means we’ve been going strong for six amazing years! I started with a simple bag of lemons, some sugar, and water ended up changing my whole family’s life. With the help of my mom, Ceydria, and my siblings, Jaheim and Noel, we’ve made our way into stores, restaurants, and even rolled out our own lemonade trailer — complete with a mascot! 🍋✨

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
The person who saw me clearly before I could even figure myself out was definitely my Gi-gi. She gained her wings earlier this year, but her words still hype me up every day. She always told me I was special and could do anything I set my mind to — like, she believed in me before I even believed in myself. Even when I was going through my wild teenage era, she still saw the best in me. And trust me, she would go toe-to-toe with my mom for me every time! Lol 💛✨

Do you remember a time someone truly listened to you?
Yeah, I remember. I opened up to my Aunt Erica, my cousin Niasia, and my mom about how I felt when those articles made me look like some kind of autism poster child. It just didn’t sit right with me, because a diagnosis doesn’t define who I am. And they actually listened — like really listened — and understood where I was coming from. It felt good to finally say it out loud and have them get it. I’m Aubrie the kid who created Breezzys Lemonade

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
Honestly, the ideas I rely on the most—besides my own—definitely come from my mom and my sister Noel. Those two are like the flavor masterminds behind the scenes! The lemonade flavors they’ve come up with over the years have turned into straight-up top sellers. They stay cooking up magic, and I just run with it! 🍋✨

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
Man, they’d definitely miss the freshest lemonade in the whole city — like, nobody’s squeezing lemons like us. And they’d for sure miss Big Breezzys, our mascot, hitting all the TikTok dances and acting a fool in the best way. The vibes would NOT be the same without us! 🍋💃📱
