Chris, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The 1st 90 minutes of my day definitely starts off with a prayer. Then depending if it’s a business or leisure day the tasks vary from climbing a wind turbine to working on performance vehicles.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Christopher Balgos. Im a full time hustler running my own Business as an Onshore Mechanical/Quality Inspector on behalf of a major energy corporation and a part time Producer/Rap Artist/Music Engineer as an independent entity. Every minute of the day counts so I strive to make every second productive. Balancing my business and music has proven to be very challenging but not impossible. Looking forward to working on continuing musical projects with one of my artists currently known as Universe OG. Our last video that we shot in Iowa was “Lord Because Of You” which was shot by Troy Brooks Films. This track was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by yours truly, Chris Balgos.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My wife has really been an inspiration to myself and has had a great impact on how I see myself. I love her so much for that. She has been there through many struggles in my life and been very supportive throughout every stage which has sculpted the positive mindset that I always try to keep and improve on. She has shown me the meaning of thinking of others before thinking of oneself and I have no doubt that she will continue to help me grow wise as a man.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Invest, invest and invest LoL. Financially; giving money a chance to grow while you sleep, especially at a younger age can yield amazing results. I started investing at a later age and wish I had known what I now know at an earlier age. Saving money is cool, but when you give the money a chance to proliferate over a duration of time, can be life changing if done correctly.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me might throw people off as 85% of my time I’m in high visibility clothing running my business; low key. But when im outside of work I’m usually Coach’d or Versace’d out with 17 carats shining at you LoL.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when im either praying or with my family. Knowing that I’m doing my best at life for the ones I love brings me great tranquility. Also knowing that I’m being thankful for everything that God has blessed me with puts me in a state of pure calmness.
