Meet Shreyans Zaveri

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Shreyans Zaveri. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Shreyans, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my interpersonal relationships. Having grown in a big joint family, everyone did their part without the expectation of a reward. I just carried that forward in my life and work. After all, the world is one big family. I do my work from a place of service. Any or every work is an act of service. Some of it is aligned with my purpose and a lot of it is not. I still go ahead and do it. I have worked on projects that have run out of budgets, I have worked in companies that have gone bankrupt and shut shop overnight. As much as it hurts and is painful, I still show up. I finish my part of the work and the parts that others need to do as well. The finished end product always sees the light, the next day. I try to bring that sincerity to all my projects. I am trying to bring the same level of innocence and energy as well but I haven’t fully succeeded there yet. When I say innocence, I want to bring that sense of childlike wonder in everything I do. So, my integrity, loyalty, grit, sincerity and perseverance are all a reflection of my upbringing. I am proud to carry that forward into my work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I primarily work as a producer/ cinematographer and editor. I mostly work on content for digital and tv platforms. I was born and grew up in Mumbai, India. That is what I’d call home. After studying and working there I moved to the US to pursue higher education. I did my Master’s in vfx and then moved to work in production full time. I’ve worked in the gaming industry, film and tv, vfx and now I’m full time into video production. I would call myself a storyteller. I am also a published author.
As for my own brand, I have recently started putting all my works together and am expanding my domains. My media company/ brand is launching soon and is called ‘The Trident Pixel.’ Under this brand I’ll be launching all of my video/ film and tv works. ‘The Trident Press’ is my other company under which I produce published works. These two are launching this year and a few more are in the works.
I just feel excited to build and make products. Weather they exist in the digital domain or are actual/ physical products, that is what keeps me going. To produce quality products.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Knowledge, skill and character. That’s it, that is what I think has kept me going. To the others, I’d just say this, acquire knowledge, sharpen your skills and cleanse your character. And keep doing this on a daily basis. This is what lasts.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
Currently I am trying to bring the sense of wonder and good energy to every project that I do. It has been really difficult to bring that same enthusiasm to work everyday. I feel mainly, once we get comfortable in any environment we do tend to work in sort of an autopilot mode and subject everything to a template.
I am branching out and trying new things so that I break free from that template and bring fresh energy to my work everyday.
It has been tough, given the nature of work and life in general but I’m doing my bit to find that balance.
