We recently had the chance to connect with Rhiannon Okoye and have shared our conversation below.
Rhiannon, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
I wake up naturally, without an alarm, and move through my morning routine, which can vary slightly depending on what I need that day. The one constant is listening to my personalised recording. These recordings have genuinely transformed my life. Those first few moments after waking are incredibly valuable for so many reasons, and starting my day this way sets the tone for everything that follows.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Rhiannon Okoye a hypnotherapist, speaker, and coach who helps high-performing professionals and founders master their inner world so they can lead with clarity, alignment, and purpose. I support leaders in dissolving unconscious blocks, expanding capacity, and stepping into the version of themselves their vision requires.
What makes my approach unique is that I don’t only work on mindset I work on the whole system. Mind, body, nervous system, subconscious, and energetic field. This allows my clients to create deep, rapid, and lasting changes that traditional coaching or talk therapy alone cannot achieve.
My story is one of reinvention. I’ve lived many lives corporate, nomadic, creative and entrepreneurial but the throughline has always been transformation. I’ve rebuilt myself more than once, and those experiences shaped the methodology I now teach: a way of becoming the most aligned, powerful version of yourself without abandoning who you really are.
Right now, I’m preparing to publish my first book and expanding my mentorship programmes globally. My focus is on equipping the next generation of visionary leaders and healers with the tools to create meaningful impact within their companies, their communities, and the world.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
One of my favourite questions and one I feel uniquely positioned to answer.
In my late teens and early twenties, I went through a complete unravelling. A remembering.
I wanted to meet the version of myself untouched by expectation, conditioning, or anyone else’s ideas of who I “should” be.
So I packed a 5kg backpack, left everything and everyone I knew, and set off on a solo journey around the world. No plan. No safety net. Just a fierce devotion to finding the truth of who I really was.
And I did.
I am still her the little girl who wanted adventure, who saw people deeply, who wanted to help in ways she didn’t yet have language for. But now she lives within the present version of me a woman shaped by experience, sharpened by intuition, held by wisdom and a very accurate judge of character.
Together, we’re unstoppable.
The innocence and the insight.
The wonder and the strategy.
The curiosity and the conviction.
Because returning to who you were before the world told you who to be isn’t regression.
It’s reclamation.
It’s power.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
Alchemy is the only word that truly fits.
I stopped hiding my pain the moment I realised it wasn’t something to bury it was something to use.
When I learned that pain could be metabolised into wisdom, that it could be shaped, refined, and transformed into something that serves… everything changed.
My wounds became teachers.
My story became medicine.
And the insight I earned through that process became something I could share with the world not from a place of suffering, but from embodied mastery.
That is when the hiding ended.
And the leadership began.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes but with nuance.
I am a deeply multifaceted person, and over the years I’ve given myself full permission to express the different dimensions of who I am. What some people interpret as “inconsistency” is actually emotional and energetic fluency the ability to lead with the part of myself that is most aligned with the work and the impact I’m here to create.
Often, when people question authenticity, it speaks more to their own unexpressed parts than it does to mine. Many have never allowed themselves the freedom to embody their full range, so someone who does can feel confronting.
The truth is this:
The public version of me is real, but it is intentionally curated.
Not to hide anything but to highlight what is most relevant, most resonant, and most strategically aligned with the mission I serve.
I am whole, vast, and human.
And I choose to lead with the aspect of me that amplifies my purpose.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Most people only see the visible 20% the polished moments, the outcomes, the wins, the part of the journey that makes sense in hindsight.
But the 80%?
The unglamorous, unseen, uncelebrated work?
No one is watching.
No one is clapping.
No one is validating.
And often… no one even cares.
But you do.
And that’s the difference.
The 80/20 rule applies to mastery in a way most people will never understand.
The 20% is what the world responds to, the visible things.
The 80% is what you commit to even when it’s boring, repetitive, lonely, confusing, or inconvenient.
That’s integrity at its core:
Can you show up when no one is looking?
Can you invest in your capacity, your alignment, your vision without applause?
Can you honour the part of you that knows the work is sacred, even if it’s invisible?
Because here’s the truth:
Only those who master the 80% ever get to experience the 20% that changes their life.
This is the part that separates the wishers from the leaders,
the dreamers from the builders,
the ones who talk about purpose… from the ones who become it.
If you’re in that 80% season right now the deep work, the quiet work, the character building, identity-shifting, capacity-forging work trust it.
You’re not behind.
You’re not lost.
You’re not invisible.
You’re becoming.
