We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jamie Watkins. Check out our conversation below.
Jamie, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’ve been called into ministry, not the first time, but many years ago I hesitated to embrace it. I’m a Jesus girl and I felt the pull, but I was focused on trying to fit myself into a box. I disqualified myself and was afraid of being seen, of being misunderstood, of not being worthy enough to carry the weight of God’s work. But now, I understand that God is calling me to simply answer the call and be available. He is doing the work! Now, I get to use my voice more boldly, to lead, to teach, and to pour into others with the authority and anointing He’s placed on my life.
I’m being called to show up unapologetically in the spaces He assigns to me. Whether it’s speaking, ministering to women, writing, or guiding others toward healing and wellbeing, I’m a vessel. What once felt intimidating now feels like obedient surrender, which I do gladly and to the glory of God!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey Good People! I’m Jamie Watkins, and I’m a faith-based speaker, best-selling author, and certified wellbeing coach committed to helping women live with more purpose, joy, and peace. Through my brand, My Peace of Happy, LLC, I create spaces where, “WE GROW BETTER TOGETHER.” Whether through books, workshops, or speaking engagements, women can reconnect with themselves, strengthen their faith, and nurture their overall wellbeing.
What makes my work impactful is that I focus on the whole woman: her spiritual health, emotional resilience, physical wellness, and the everyday stressors that often go unspoken. My approach blends biblical principles, mindset work, and practical wellness strategies, all delivered with honesty, compassion, and a bit of happy because healing doesn’t have to be heavy.
I’m especially passionate about equipping women to share their stories with the world. As a writing coach, I help women tell their stories with confidence and clarity, especially those who feel called to share a message but aren’t sure how to begin. Guiding women through the writing process; whether it’s a book, devotional, or personal narrative. This has become a beautiful extension of my ministry.
My mission is simple, yet significant: to help women feel seen and know that they are enough, equipped and empowered with purpose.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
No question, my relationship with God. It’s God who has walked me through every season, my grief, my doubt, my shame, my healing, my growth, and stays with me. For a long time, I struggled with feeling like I wasn’t good enough and that my voice didn’t matter. At one point, I’d concluded I was too hard to love. But the more I looked to God and leaned into Him, the more He revealed His truth about who I truly am.
God has shown me my strength when I felt weak, my worth when I felt overlooked, and my voice when I wanted to stay quiet. He’s taught me to see myself not through my fears or past experiences, but through His love and intention for my life.
My personal relationship with God has reshaped every single thing in my life. It’s reflected in how I show up as a woman, a wife, a mother, a leader, and someone called to serve others. It keeps me grounded, humbled, and encouraged, and it reminds me that I’m never walking alone, no matter how big the assignment feels. It’s see myself as loved.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I love this question. For a long time, I believed that failure meant I wasn’t capable, that I wasn’t good enough. That belief created toxic patterns in my life: perfectionism, compulsive planning, and a constant need to control. It showed up in school, on the job, and in my relationships.
But walking through the failure of my first marriage, which shook me to my core, God began to shift my perspective. I realized the failure wasn’t rejection, it was redirection. It wasn’t a verdict on my worth; it was a lesson in trust, obedience, and humility. I learned that failing doesn’t disqualify me from what God has for me, including the people and purposes He’s placing in my life.
I didn’t fail. I learned. I grew. And today, I am exactly where I’m meant to be, stronger, wiser, loved and more aligned with God’s plan for my life.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
I think smart people often get it wrong when they prioritize achievement and productivity over wellbeing and purpose. Even highly educated or successful individuals can overlook the fact that true effectiveness comes from caring for the whole person (mind, body, and spirit). That’s why I love the work I do, the science behind wellbeing, has shown me how critical it is to focus on emotional resilience, stress management, and intentional self-care, all while staying grounded in faith.
Too often, people chase success or recognition at the expense of their spiritual health and inner alignment. That might look productive in the short term, but it will eventually lead to burnout, disconnection, and a sense of emptiness. The shift I believe we need is to value being over doing, to cultivate higher habits of wellbeing that honor both body and soul, and to align our actions with God’s calling for our lives. That’s the path to lasting fulfillment, true impact, and peace that surpasses circumstances. That is where you find your “Peace of Happy”.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
If I laid down my name, my roles, and my possessions, what would remain is my relationship with God and the essence of who He created me to be. Everything else will fade, the titles, achievements, material things are temporary, but my spirit, my faith, and my purpose are eternal.
What would remain is the love I carry, my smile, my laugh. The impact I’ve had on others, how I saw them, how I listened, how hard I loved them! The person I’ve become through trials, growth, and obedience to God. At the very core, it’s about heart posture, character, and the legacy of faith and service that no one can take away. That’s what will truly lasts.
