Jason Rosell shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Hi Jason, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
For the first 20 minutes, I engage in my morning priming routine. This includes prayer, acknowledging my fears and how I’ll face them, expressing gratitude, and visualizing a positive day. The following 60 minutes are dedicated to interval cardio, and I finish the 90 minutes by texting family and clients, wishing them a wonderful day before starting work.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Jason Rosell is a television personality, fitness celebrity and a life, wellness, relationship coach helping 1000’s yearly reshape and rebuild their lives mentally, emotionally and physically. Jason is the founder of the global wellness brand “Caliente Fitness”.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
For the first twenty years of my life, I struggled with my weight, which led to low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Frequent bullying further eroded my confidence. However, I transformed my life by focusing on holistic well-being. I started working on myself from the inside out, addressing my emotions, stress, and physical health. This journey has made me mentally and physically stronger, more secure, and confident.
When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
At the age of 21, I hit rock bottom. I was falling asleep to a bag of Oreo cookies every night. One night, my mother found me, and I was so embarrassed that I vowed I would no longer live like that. I took action and turned my pain into purpose.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The wellness and fitness industry often perpetuates the lie that weight loss can be achieved healthily through pills and injections, without addressing the need for long-term lifestyle changes. The truth is, sustainable, healthy results come from consistent healthy eating and exercise, creating an amazing shape from within, without relying on such quick fixes.
Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Growing up, I was told by doctors that my obesity, caused by severe food allergies, which meant I would always be overweight. I firmly believed this as it was coming from doctors. Despite trying everything to lose weight and get in shape, nothing worked until I took control and succeeded, defying all the odds. I encourage everyone to break free from limiting beliefs and doctor’s constraints, focusing on achieving both mental and physical well-being.
