Pro4ecy’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We recently had the chance to connect with Pro4ecy and have shared our conversation below.

Good morning Pro4ecy , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is a normal day like for you right now?
Busy. I’m planning a few new shows while getting a big marketing campaign together for an all natural lotion and body butter company I just started. Testing and creating new products. All while trying to stay active and maintain adequate sleep.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Pro4ecy. A magician, comedian, model and owner of an all natural lotion and body butter company, Vand Creme.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I had to stand on my own two feet and kill a show. Doing a show with a mentor is cool. It’s kinda like a parent is still holding your hand. However, doing it on your own, no other act except you. Do or die.

Once I got off that stage and people wanted pictures and just to shake me hand after performing magic. It felt unreal.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh yeah. Getting a “steady” job is easy. Clock in clock out. Routine. However, there’s no guarantee in that either it’s under the illusion it’s safe.

This life. Man. One minute you’re up, next minute you have cancellations, partners giving you the run around. So many different factors that makes a regular 9-5 seem so much better. I’ve dealt with more negatives than positives, but you find the way and you go with it.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
Of course what you see is what you get! I don’t have any cards up my sleeves. Either you like me or you don’t. Of course there are rules, be respectful and receive respect, stand by your word, etc. There’s no TV me. I don’t know how people do that. It’s tiring.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
On that stage. Doing something no one else really can do. It’s weird cause I have the storm before the calm, not the other way. But, I overthink my set, what if I do this first and mess up my flow. What if I set something on fire. What if the audience doesn’t love me.

When I’m on that stage though… All that calms down and I just go for it!
