Meet Daylon Burks

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Daylon Burks a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Daylon, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

Honestly my work ethic just pretty much came on from being thrown into the entertainment industry, especially the more I got overly involved on each film sets I’ve been on, I told myself just zone out everything and lock in and that unlocked a more work hard ability in me. but I believe overall my work ethic feels inherited, I have one of the most hardest working moms in the world and it must’ve been passed down onto me.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

What I am more focused on is trying to get my name/brand more expanded especially as a newer actor and upcoming model, it is truly important in this industry to branch out, that is focus professionally but overall as a person I want to help other people out by telling and teaching them they can achieve anything they want to do or be, it’s all about believing in yourself, take control of the steering wheel of your life and drive, don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t also do it. I also want to bring more positivity into this world because it is truly needed in times like this.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

I believe the three most important qualities that I display and so far has been the most impactful is by me being respectful by bringing a positive light, just treating everybody the same with respect and love, I’m a man of god so I believe everybody should be treated with respect and love equally, and quite honestly just willing to do the hard work to improve. I didn’t play sports in school but I knew the qualities that could always make an athlete/person better with more discipline so I took that and applied towards my life and career.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?

If I’m being quite honest, there’s a big list of folks I would love to collaborate and work with but honestly no. 1 would be to work with/ model with clothing brands especially a brand like Calvin Klein or H&M, that’s always been a dream/goal of mine and I would love to achieve that, secondly, being more involved in music videos especially with my favorite artists or really good artists in general, just to be in their videos to help create the vision they are already looking for in their videos, that’s something I’ll love to collaborate on.
