Meet Teeshay Shah

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Teeshay Shah. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Teeshay with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
It came from my upbringing very early in life. My mother put me through the rigors of life right from the age of 8. She always made sure I was a disciplined and obedient student in academics by helping me with my homework. She also made sure my extracurriculars were in place when she enrolled me in dance and martial arts, which gave me the confidence to work around people. And then it was engineering which really strengthened my work ethic. I had to study long hours every day, which was life for 4 years. Engineering really makes you a tough nut to crack under pressure as far as work ethic is concerned.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I think I would humbly fall into the category of a performer. I act, write, host, and produce. I do whatever comes my way in the entertainment world. But my real love lies in front of the camera as an actor. This year has been about commercials and more commercials for me. The ones that really put me out there were the Global Spotify commercial and a commercial for Remitly(The biggest South Asian money transfer app in the US). One of my movies “I Wish” came out and it was insanely special because I got to attend the premiere in India and the love and support from people there was priceless. Something I never experienced before.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Training, self-confidence, and patience are of utmost importance and I genuinely feel they are interlinked.

Alright, so before we go we want to ask you to take a moment to reflect and share what you think you would do if you somehow knew you only had a decade of life left?
Yes! Mastering the American accent;) It’s a tough skill when you arrive at a later stage of life in America. You already have your motherland accent which is tough to let go of. But hey, I am trying my best to master it and one day I will! People say I am 80 percent there.
