We recently had the chance to connect with Khutso Gololo and have shared our conversation below.
Khutso, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
Uhm hello Amy thanks for this opportunity I don’t even know where to begin but to dive in the the subject of the matter, uhm I would say my brand i have been in and out for it building relationships with some of my associates giving it the recognition it deserves around the world, with that said I promise more projects are intact.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Khutso Gololo grew up in the township of Tembisa was born in limpopo and a week later was brought this side thats when my story began, I m a rap artist, a producer I also work on other genres like amapiano, deep house, etc. The idea is to be as versatile as you can be in this business so Abnormal.Sounds is the platform and name I created for my other genres other than hip hop, recently I jus released volume one i m working on Abnormal.Sounds volume 2 as we speak dropping soon, the unique process of it is a lot off instruments packed on one song making the possibilities of something far different from what we are used to so jus give it time
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a soft person with so many questions but no answers because a lot of bad staff happened back in the past which always broke me instead I never understood how the world worked, so I kept learning life as it came and when I realized how it worked I came to understand that all of that was a lesson that is why you become the image of your past
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yeah ofcourse thats how hard sometimes life can be, you lose yourself and feel unworthy of achieving your goals, there is something I would like to share with you about giving up, it is normal as a human being with feelings and emotions to give up just don’t embrace it, make it last for a certain time then get back on your feet and continue with your grind, it kept me going
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Where are smart people getting it totally wrong today?
Smart people today tend to compete their intelligence with others, a smart individual can have a conversation with another smart individual instead of learning from each other they want to brag about their mental state, so thats how it is
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Haha nope I would continue living the life i m living and double up on it, I m not afraid of death I just want to die on my own terms
