Kat Beanland on Life, Lessons & Legacy

Kat Beanland shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Kat, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
That is a wonderful question that really makes me pause and reflect.

Lately, the greatest source of joy outside of my professional life has been my family, specifically my children.

While I am genuinely passionate about my career, the truth is that my deepest motivation in all my endeavors is to provide for them. Watching them grow, planning future trips, and having meaningful, quality time together brings me immense satisfaction.

However, the moments that bring me the most pure, unadulterated joy are the simple ones: watching the same show for the umpteenth time or playing hide and seek in the dark. Exploring the wide breadth of their imagination and creative play with them is truly invigorating and has been my greatest delight recently.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Kat Beanland. I am a wife and mother to three incredible children—an angel baby and two phenomenal children whom we affectionately refer to as the “Beanie Babies.” Being a wife and a mother are two of the greatest positions I have ever held. My children and family are my greatest motivators and inspire me to push boundaries and achieve the unimaginable. As I began to push these boundaries, I discovered new passions that have opened up amazing personal and professional opportunities. This is how Beanland & Associates was born.

Beanland & Associates is a business consulting firm that focuses on helping people live out their best professional lives by helping them implement processes and systems into their business using technology and process management.

I work alongside leaders and entrepreneurs and help them find balance in their work life. Often, this means helping them get out of the weeds of their daily operations and get to other things. Sometimes it’s getting back to dreaming and growing their business, but sometimes it’s helping them get back to being with their families and doing the things they love to do. Our motto is “Getting you back to what you love,” and for every person, that’s different. We also believe that rest is essential to growth, creativity, and sustainability. So, with all our clients, we ensure that the systems and technologies we use are self-sustainable so each of our clients is able to implement times of rest into their normal schedules.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
The person who taught me the most profound lessons about work is, without a doubt, my father.

While I grew up witnessing his incredible work ethic daily, one piece of advice he gave me stands out as the foundation of my professional drive. I recall him saying, “Always work hard, no matter what. As long as you work hard, nothing is impossible for you to achieve. You can do anything!”

This wasn’t just a motivational quote; it was an ingrained belief that he demonstrated through his own commitment. The lesson I absorbed wasn’t just about putting in hours, but about the intrinsic value of effort and believing in one’s own capacity to grow and overcome challenges.

I genuinely believe that philosophy has shaped where I am today. Sitting here in this interview, sharing my story, my passion, and my expertise with the world, is an achievement I once viewed as a distant dream. That belief—that hard work unlocks the impossible—is what allowed me to put in the necessary effort to develop the skills and confidence to pursue this opportunity.

His teaching gave me the courage to aim high and the resilience to persevere when things got difficult, which, to me, is the definition of true success in the workplace.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering has taught me compassion. Going through my own trials, struggles, and problems has shown me the depth of human suffering and the primal need to survive. While I was blessed with spiritual strength from God and an amazing support system, the thought that others endure the same hardships alone truly humbles me and ignites a deeper compassion.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is the real me. I truly believe that authenticity is one of the most valuable traits a person can have.

When people can trust that the person they meet in public is the same person in private, it removes barriers and allows for genuine connection. I have nothing to hide because my values, beliefs, and actions are consistent, regardless of the audience.

Being truly yourself is the only sustainable way to live, and it’s the greatest gift you can offer others.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I aspire for my life to be remembered as a testament to my faith and the deep, loving impact I had on every person I encountered.

When I’m gone, I hope people say: “She loved God, she loved her family, and she loved people.”

I hope that my compassion and care leave an eternal impact on the hearts and lives of others. I try to engage people in a way that they feel seen and heard.
