An Inspired Chat with Lyndon (Best Fire) Best of Brooklyn

We recently had the chance to connect with Lyndon (Best Fire) Best and have shared our conversation below.

Lyndon , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
I definitely, won’t hesitate to say outside of my 9-5 and food delivery side hustle jobs, I’m very elated and filled with overflowing joy as an independent artist that my catalog of music is being streamed and played globally via different online and FM Band radio stations in different countries worldwide.
And that you can actually Google my name Best Fire and there you will find me through the search bar, what an accomplishing feeling from networking my music and seeing my progress.
Knowing that my catalog of music out there for the world to stream and listen to, singles titled “Tell Me Whey Yuh Want”, “Bam Bam”, “Speaker”, “Just Sign It”, “Who’s Fire” with 2 digital albums and a number of singles under my belt. It is such a great feeling knowing people in the world is enjoying my music and voice. While seeing my global distribution reports from my music society BMI and from Music Embassies my publishers is such an accomplishing feeling as an independent artist, there is one way to go from here up.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Blessings to all that’s above ground and happy reading, let me start by saying my name is Lyndon Best an independent recording/performing artist aka Best Fire hailing from the beautiful shores of Trinidad and Tobago and now resides in Brooklyn NY. My style of music, can be described as upbeat, fast paced happy music with my versatility and style crossing different genres of music with my main genre being soca which comes like the offspring of traditional calypso of my country.
Another side of being an independent artist, is that I’m learning to be a videographer, photographer, video editor and recording engineer all in one, wearing many hats and actually enjoying it. I’m also the founder of my own recording studio Best Fire Productions in Brooklyn NY. For all of my accomplishments, I’m very proud of my hard work and due diligence thus far in my musical career. Even while grinding at my 9-5, I still am seeing the progress in my musical journey and growing of the Best Fire brand.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Just a simple, humble kind hearted, like to gain knowledge about life and the world type of individual, that’s juggling a 9-5 while navigating my path through life and music. It all started for me after putting out my first independently funded digital album titled “Smoke” which was distributed and published by Reverbnation back in 2015. I never looked back after that, kept on creating and putting out music for the wider world to listen and enjoy, in the coming years I have been releasing only singles that was recorded at my home studio Best Fire Productions Brooklyn NY, while completing my second album “Fire Timing” that was released in June 2025.

Also in the start of 2025 I did my first live broadcasted performance of my song titled “Tell Me Whey Yuh Want” in my home country Trinidad and Tobago for the start of the carnival season in Trinidad at Wack Radio 90.1 fm studio, did a radio tour doing interviews on The Street 91.9 fm DJ Youngster @dee_jay_youngstar and announcer Big Mike @bigmikes_legacy also on Slam 100.5 fm with the announcer Verse @iamsoverse and the DJ Kadeem Suave @kadeemsuave, with all blessings from the almighty father and my due diligence and drive, I know who I have to be Best Fire.

I also had the opportunity of performing at the infamous Lounge/Bar Frankie’s On The Avenue @frankiestrinidad located in the city of Port Of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. I was noticed by female promoter Calle of 3 Queens Entertainment @3queensent after my performance at Frankie’s where she invited me on the spot to her event called Splash Pool Party up Lady Chancellor Hill at a hotel, and got the opportunity to perform alongside couple well established artists from Trinidad and Tobago, Lady Lava @ladylava_official and Preedy @ilandboy_preedy.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
In this music business, environment and pursuing a musical career independently while funding my own projects and juggling a 9-5 job, there have been many times I felt like giving up and throwing in the towel. Remember times of DJ’s just not interested in my music reaching out to radio stations online and FMm getting no response back. And having a feeling of what I’m doing wrong.
But the inner drive that I have to succeed and become a household name in the music industry, and finding my own space and lane as there is room for every type of creative globally and never forgetting to put the almighty father first while having the faith, confidence and the positive attitude to keep pushing forward through the ups and downs of my journey. Plus seeing the first hand growth of my music streams worldwide from my catalog of music, this definitely proves that my talent is being recognized, and that is my biggest drive and encouragement.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
At this stage in my life, my closet friends will definitely say music matters to me the most, investing in myself towards my music career and entrepreneurial skills while navigating the ups and downs of life and creating music for the world to hear like and enjoy. I am always filled with a sense of accomplishment every time someone goes on their own cell phones and search for Best Fire and presto I’m there, to me in it’s own right is like receiving a musical award.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
Finding my solitude and bliss on this crazy globe (planet) we all live and interact on. I’m most at peace when out in nature around, on or swimming in water, being amongst trees, fresh air watching out on a horizon, getting inspired by all things around me and definitely when creating and working on music in my studio or with fellow artists, peers or engineers.
My mind feels most clear and open to lots of new ideas about music and life in general, definitely being in my studio in my own realm, creating, writing music listening to instrumentals and getting inspired by my thoughts gives me the most joy.
