Trevor WALTERS of St.Mary on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We recently had the chance to connect with Trevor WALTERS and have shared our conversation below.

Trevor, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first ninety minutes of my day are intentional because I believe the first hour sets the tone for everything that follows. I start by waking up with gratitude, acknowledging God for the gift of another day and another opportunity to grow. From there, I spend time in the Word, grounding myself with Scripture. I then listen to something motivational to align my mindset and prepare my spirit, focus, and energy for the work ahead.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Trey Walters. I’m a father of two, an international author, motivational speaker, certified Christian life coach, and the Chief Impact and Development Officer at The King’s Table. My mission is to help people who feel stuck—emotionally, spiritually, or after a painful life event—find clarity, healing, and direction so they can rise into their God-given potential.

My story gained widespread recognition through my book, “How I Lost My Wife to a Warlock,” where I share a transparent account of betrayal, spiritual warfare, and personal restoration. That experience didn’t define me; it refined me. It showed me that valleys are temporary and that with the right support, accountability, and spiritual grounding, anyone can rebuild their life from the inside out.

Through my coaching brand, Tarry With Me, I guide individuals who feel overwhelmed or lost, helping them strengthen their inner life, reconnect with purpose, and take ownership of their personal growth. What sets my work apart is that it’s not just professional—it’s personal. I’ve lived the pain, walked through the process, and experienced the transformation I now help others achieve.

My work has been featured on Sheena Power Talk, The DayeLight Show, Wise Worthy Woman, Best 100 FM, Geared To Live Talk Show, Marketplace Podcast, Shoutout Atlanta Magazine, and several other prominent platforms. Whether I’m coaching, writing, or speaking, my focus is always the same—empowering people to rise out of their valley and step boldly into the life God created them to live.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory of feeling powerful came during the lowest point of my life. After the affair, I lost my job and then caught COVID. My body was so weak that I collapsed on the floor and stayed there for three days. I didn’t call anyone. I didn’t reach out for help. In that moment, I honestly told myself, “If I die, I die.”

But on the third day, my eyes opened, and something shifted in me. I realized that although I had lost everything, I had also been given a clean slate — and there was so much to gain. I pulled myself up off that floor and made a decision: I was stronger than I ever knew, and from that day forward, I was going to live life on my own terms.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a moment when I almost gave up. After the affair, my entire life felt like it collapsed at once. I lost who I thought I was. I was months behind on rent, drowning in debt, and then suddenly jobless. To have all of that happen while also facing the reality of betrayal made everything feel hopeless.

It wasn’t just the situation it was the feeling of being stripped of identity, stability, and direction all at the same time. For a moment, I truly questioned if I had anything left in me to keep going.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would tell you that my faith in God is what matters most to me. It’s the foundation of everything I do and the reason I’m still standing today. Faith is what carried me through the darkest seasons of my life and continues to guide every decision I make.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that my life truly made a difference. That I didn’t just speak about purpose — I helped people find theirs. I want them to say my books saved marriages, restored homes, and brought healing to places that were breaking. I want them to remember that my coaching and speaking didn’t just motivate them for a moment, but helped raise a generation that decided to chase their calling with courage.

Most of all, I hope people say that my life was an example of what happens when you put your trust in the Lord — that I lived with faith, integrity, and a heart for people. If the story they tell is that their lives rose because I encouraged them to rise, then I lived the way God intended.
