Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Latricia Powell of Bronx

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Latricia Powell. Check out our conversation below.

Latricia, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Heavens “yes”! I’m full of integrity, responsibility, accountability, trustworthiness and most of all loyalty. I work my heart and soul into everything I do. I never quit or give up on anyone or anything I wholeheartedly believe in. God works in mysterious ways and I’m Sherlock Holmes!!! I only take on things with 100% conviction. Anything I do is everything I do. I teach this philosophy to my children, because generational legacy is the endgame.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Well, I’ve done a few introductions before…however, I’ve grown and out-grown so much since then. So, let me reintroduce myself in the most unconventional way possible. I’m a woman of sovereignty and autonomy. I’m a Queen of underground networks, the true altruistic philanthropist of the world. I stopped using “titles”, because I’m undefinable. I’m a child of God who is covered by the blood of Jesus, as are my children. Personally speaking, I live as Neville Goddard says, “In the end”. I’m a manifester, I create the uncreated. I hold significant power and I claim it while leading others to do the same.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
Hmmmm….perhaps, 2018-Present. I laugh thinking of it, because I literally have been playing a real-life, in real-time game of chess with my lifelong partner. I prayed for God to show me a different trajectory of life than what I was living and this man showed up. And, trust me, God not only told me he was the one, but showed me as well. One evening while visiting him in NYC, we got into a heated conflict and tensions rose. I motioned I was leaving but before I did, I went in his bathroom, looked in the mirror and told God, “If he’s the one, he won’t let me leave”. As I exited the bathroom, his pride was walking me to the door and my heart dropped. Remember, God works in mysterious ways…when I touched the handle to leave, he turned to me and asked me to stay. I’m 38 years old, for the first and only time in my life God showed me that someone loved me for who I am and love conquers all, especially pride and ego.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes. It’s scary for some to talk about suicide but I had suicidal thoughts (never acted on them) twice in my life. Once after I had an abortion in 2009 and once in 2022 when I was wrongfully arrested for defending myself. Can you believe that the police arrested me and the person who called the police on me had convictions for domestic violence against me? I was so hurt, I was depleted and I felt that all males were patriarchal and misogynistic….temporarily. Again, my God just shows up and shows out. I taught like hell to clear my name and heaven made it reality.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
I used to believe that I was obligated to be with the man I had my children with (my ex-husband) and that I had to call my bloodline my “family”. I also felt they were entitled to me no matter how toxic or unsafe the circumstances were. I no longer serve that narrative, I’m the protagonist, author and narrator of my story. And I say, I’m living my healthiest life in the godliest case scenario…healthily ever after, because “health is wealth”. Husband + wealth = health and Wife + health = wealth. Power recognizes power.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I’m outside in nature walking for hours or driving long distances, while praying and talking with God.
