We’re looking forward to introducing you to Liz Russell. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Liz, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity has always been a high value for me. Doing good for others, being authentic, holding myself accountable are very important to me in how I operate in this world and when I find that in others, I keep them close!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Liz Russell and I host a variety of themed events designed to highlight supporting local and I’m the founder of a growing networking community for women.
What began as a simple desire to build community has evolved into events like Women’s Day Out, Family Day Out, Sip & Shops, Home & Garden Markets & more. Each experience focuses on shopping local, wellness, learning, and bringing people together in a way that feels both fun and purposeful.
With my networking community, I create spaces where women—especially those who may be more introverted or crave deeper, more intentional relationships – can come together in a way that feels genuine, welcoming and fulfilling.
I’m continuing to grow these community events and expand opportunities for local businesses to gain visibility – whether through vendor markets, workshops, networking gatherings or partnerships. At the heart of everything I do is building community, in more ways than one.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I should be quiet and not take up too much space. While at times, I still struggle with speaking up. I now have lead meetings of groups of women, delegate tasks to others, and take more control when needed.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Resilience. That you can bounce back up – even when you thought you never could.
I experienced much suffering with having OCD, very much one of the lowest points of my life, constantly in fear that I messed something up. Constantly – and often times irrational. I went from not knowing how to do even simple tasks – for fear of messing up – to running two businesses.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Authenticity, laughter, doing the right thing, deep connections.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
100%. I will admit that I struggle with “people pleasing” from time to time or wanting to seek the validation from others. But I know that the real value comes from when you are proud of you.
