An Inspired Chat with Lauren Davidson of New York

Lauren Davidson shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Lauren , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. When was the last time you felt true joy?
I feel true joy every day. Not all day every day but sparks of. I love living in nyc and seeing the little life I’ve built here.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi I’m Lauren Davidson and I’m an urban country artist from nyc. A singer/somgwriter/performer/entertainer and founder of mini festival urban country jam. I’ve been performing since age 10 in both theatre and music and have continued to do so around the country until now.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
I think every person I’ve ever met has shaped who I am today. Obviously my family especially my dad who is also a musician is a big influence on how I got to where I am musically. He showed me a love for music at a very young age and encouraged me to pursue this crazy passion of mine. But I believe every relationship and person we meet along the way is a part of our story big or small, positive or negative.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
I think suffering has taught me strength. Even in the darkest of times there’s light at the end of the tunnel. You may not see it at the time but I promise, you will eventually. Things will be better. You just gotta keep moving one day at a time.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Loyalty and honesty. Period.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Yes I think making music is what I was born to do.
