Story & Lesson Highlights with Cam Ezra

We recently had the chance to connect with Cam Ezra and have shared our conversation below.

Cam, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Who are you learning from right now?
Recently its been giving away control lyrically, your words, phrasing and how you articulate is going to be interpreted in a variety of ways. The way words are interpreted both as a creator and an observer is what makes art so special, its never gonna be the same (and it shouldn’t be) If you happen to be a creator, perceive and digest your creation in the 3rd person remove your ego and remove worry about writing run on sentences and bad grammer because no one cares. When you realize how unimportant you are and how disposable you are the world is yours. Beauty exist in that realization. Be ever so delusional when you create and remember reality is a construct that you hold every key to.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Ragz imagination is a group of multifaceted people in the creative world. The goal is to build a funnel in its own ecosystem that feeds itself while being creatively and financially independent. We are not a label, We are not a collective but WE are people who simply love doing this and will be doing this until we no longer can (death probably) . I dream of this being an environment that lasts hundreds of years where the foundation is so strong and the core values are so emphasized it elevates above time. Utilize the Fragmentz of your imagination and make Ragz into Riches

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
My earliest memory is being on Hampton Dr in Elyria Ohio. Matchbox 20’s “mad season” opening riff playing and the sun hitting my face on a splintered patio while holding my Bionicles. I don’t necessarily know what that means or the importance of it but something changed in that moment. The distortion of the guitar matched the orangish/yellow color of the sun when I closed my eyes. Sonically it felt warm, it felt humid like the air. It felt like capturing a moment that would be etched for the rest of my life. Frequencies created us and will continue to shape us. I’m so incredibly fortunate to have such a profound experience so young.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
It taught me that achieving what I was told would bring me happiness would only invite emptiness. Success doesn’t impact happiness but the chase of it seemingly gives us purpose almost as if we are vessels built to constantly chase it. If we let passion kill us instead of the pursuit of temporary bliss the construct of time would be the delusion as opposed to the ladder.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. How do you differentiate between fads and real foundational shifts?
Fads sell themselves as a foundational shifts through cheap dopamine
and foundational shifts sell themselves through time. both hold an equal importance in the existence of each-other but are very different.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
