An Inspired Chat with Jonny Violet of New York

Jonny Violet shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Jonny, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Both.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Jonny Violet. I’ve been described as a “singer, songwriter, and social media star”- and I’m recently known for my presence on Snap.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
This is a good one! Someone stopped me at Grand Central a bit ago and told me I was destined to be a star. I guess I see that for myself? I’m still not sure what will happen.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Oh several times. I’ve been dealing with health struggles which has certainly made things difficult.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Empathy.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. When do you feel most at peace?
When I finish a days work and say “I did everything I could do today”. Also when I am not in a health flare. That helps.
