Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Holly Z.

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Holly Z.. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Holly, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What are you being called to do now, that you may have been afraid of before?
I’m being called to use my story to help others recognize abuse, heal, and find faith again. It once terrified me to speak openly — now I know that silence protects the wrong people. Sharing my truth has not only set me free but has opened doors for others to do the same.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Holly Z., and my journey has taken me from Manhattan’s fitness studios — where I became one of the city’s top trainers — to the creative world of acting, producing, and casting. After moving to Los Angeles, one of my greatest passions became dog rescue, which I began working in around 2008 — a calling that taught me compassion, perseverance, and purpose.
Most recently, I completed and released my book G’LOVES OFF in early September — a project that represents my true calling: to bring awareness to narcissism and abuse, and to educate others on how these experiences affect not only the mind and spirit, but also the body and physical health just as deeply. G’LOVES OFF is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. From every sale, I set aside funds for what I call “Blessing Books” — copies I gift to survivors of abuse who have not only been stripped of their hearts, but also their financial footing (as I was), so they can begin their own healing journey.
The word narcissist doesn’t mean “conceited” or “cheap.” It reflects a serious pattern of psychological, spiritual, and physical harm that too many people silently endure. My mission is to help others recognize the truth, find healing, and rediscover faith and self-worth.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that most shaped how I see myself was the one that nearly erased me. It broke down every illusion I had about love, truth, and trust — but in rebuilding myself, I found a strength I didn’t know existed. What once felt like destruction became the foundation of my purpose.

When did you stop hiding your pain and start using it as power?
I stopped hiding my pain when silence started to feel heavier than truth. There came a moment when pretending I was fine felt like another form of captivity. Sharing my story — and writing it — turned what once broke me into a bridge for others to heal. That’s where my power began.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One foundational truth I live by is that integrity matters, even when no one’s watching. Another is that peace is priceless — you protect it, or you lose yourself trying to please others.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I understand deeply that abuse—whether emotional, psychological, or physical—leaves scars you can’t always see. It reshapes your mind, drains your body, and tests your faith. But healing is possible, and when it happens, you don’t just survive—you become someone wiser, stronger, and more compassionate than before.
