Meet Gino Vian

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gino Vian a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Gino, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience comes from the life I have lived and the work I have done. After 15 years in the industry, I’ve learned that growth comes just as much from setbacks as it does from success.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

After years of working on projects for others in the design build world, I am excited to finally focus on a venture of my own with my brother. We are in the process of opening a bar called Dos MAS in the East End. It is a chance to build something in a new way, and put everything we have learned into one personal project. We look forward to launching and bringing something fresh and welcoming to the city.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three most impactful qualities in my journey have been consistency, grit, and passion for the work. Showing up every day, pushing through challenges, and staying committed to the process made the biggest difference. My advice to anyone early in their journey is simple: keep at it, stay patient, and let your passion fuel you. The results come with time and effort

If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?

I would spend it with my family and doing what I love. Even in my free time, that means being with the people I care about most and continuing to create.
