Meet Tunisha

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tunisha. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Tunisha, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?

I draw my resilience from my faith and the challenges I’ve faced along the way. Facing obstacles has taught me to stay focused, find solutions, and keep moving forward even when things feel uncertain. Each experience has strengthened my perseverance and given me confidence to tackle new challenges, while my faith provides a steady foundation that keeps me grounded through it all.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I am the founder of UpBeat Events LLC, where I create and produce a variety of dance and movement experiences, from line dancing and ballroom classes to socials and specialty events. Our mission is turning moments into movements — turning everyday experiences into opportunities for connection, expression, and celebration through dance.

What drives me most is seeing participants gain confidence, let go, and fully engage in the experience. Every event is designed to be welcoming, energizing, and memorable.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are expanding our programming with new classes, collaborations, and events to reach and inspire an even broader community. At UpBeat Events, we aim to foster connection, spark joy, and celebrate the transformative power of movement.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

My commitment to community has guided my journey, shaping how I connect with others and approach every project.

Adaptability allows me to meet people where they are — whether it’s adjusting a class for beginners, trying new dance styles, or finding creative ways to make events inclusive and fun.

Collaboration and connection are equally important. Working with peers, mentors, and the participants I serve inspires me to innovate and grow, and it helps me create experiences that truly bring people together.

These qualities influence everything I do, helping me create events and programs that are meaningful, engaging, and memorable for everyone involved.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

The people who have been most helpful in my journey include my family, mentors, peers, and the community I serve.

My family has been my anchor, offering encouragement and perspective that gave me the confidence to take on challenges I once thought were impossible.

Mentors and peers have provided guidance and shared expertise at critical moments, supporting me in planning major events and launching new classes, and helping me refine my skills and grow professionally.

The community I serve continues to inspire me, motivating me to innovate and create experiences that truly connect with others.

Their support has shaped not only my success but also the way I approach every project, reminding me that growth is a collaborative journey.
