Meet Taylor K

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Taylor K a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Taylor K, thanks for taking the time to share your lessons with our community today. So, let’s jump right in – one of the most essential skills for unlocking our potential is self-discipline. Where does your self-discipline come from?

My self discipline comes from understanding that’s I am human and I have to go through things but in going through such things I also understand that I have free will. Intuition will always be the loudest when a decision in your life will or can be life altering. For example say you’re driving down the road and you hear the voice of discernment tell you to go left when your route usually takes you right. You end up going left then you see it was a traffic jam later down the line or an accident that could’ve been you! In that moment it’s a split decision between destiny; because you think you know best just this time and it’s something familiar, a test; are you going to learn the lesson Or repeat because it’s familiar? Or pure ignorance; I heard it but I ignored it because I’m comfortable. A lot of the time, if not most, we have the answers we seek we just have to be disciplined enough to take heed and listen. Looking from life’s viewpoint of we are souls having a human experience, not the other way around. How many opportunities have you missed because your lack of discipline? Discipline comes from knowledge and with knowledge comes wisdom and with wisdom comes discipline. If you know better often times you’ll do better! Discipline for me comes with fear of The Most High. Ecclesiasticus 19:19-20

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I have stopped limiting myself on the things I do! I am a Woman of many talents! I have my own Curly hair salon! I’m learning how to DJ! I’m an author! I’m an artist! I am a poet! I am a skater! Im a lover! I am love! My energy alone heals people!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

1. Center focus on The Most High.
2. Learn the art of not giving a single fu*k
3. Do whatever makes YOU happy

Es Lo Que es!!

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?

The most impactful thing my parents have done for me is left me alone. Yes, I know that sounds awful, but in hindsight I was able to build my wisdom with The Most High. The creator has been the best parent anyone could ever ask for! At the end of the day my parents did their job, the circumstances were horrible but it got the job done. I am who I am because of every obstacle life has thrown at me. At the end of the day, I had to understand I came onto life alone and I will leave life alone. I am on my souls journey. I learned to depend on the only person I can never walk away from and that is myself. Gratitude to you both.
