Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Caroline Phillips. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Caroline , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I get my work ethic from my parents. Growing up, I watched them work hard every single day, and it taught me so much about determination and hard work. They always reminded me that nothing good ever comes easy, and that if something is important to me, I have to work for it. That mindset has really shaped who I am. Whenever things get challenging, I think about the example they set, and it motivates me to stay focused and keep going. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
PC Cookery is where I bake and design custom cookies. What I love most about what I do is being able to take someone’s vision and turn it into something edible and meaningful. Every set of cookies tell a story; whether it’s for a birthday, a wedding, a baby shower, or just because. I get to help people celebrate their special moments in a really unique way. What makes my business special is the personal connection behind every order. My customers come to me with ideas, somevery specific and some open-ended, and I get to bring those ideas to life in a creative way. No two orders are ever the same, and that keeps me excited and constantly learning. At the end of the day, PC Cookery is more than a bakery, it’s a place where creativity, celebration, and sweets come together. I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported me and believed in what I do.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Creativity has been essential, especially in a business where every order is unique. Being able to take someone’s idea and turn it into a cookie design that feels special is what makes my business stand out. Being willing to learn and grow has shaped everything I do. When I started my cookie business, there were so many techniques, tools, and skills I had never used before. Instead of letting that overwhelm me, I embraced learning as part of the process. Lastly, being willing to take risks and try new things has helped grow in confidence. It’s easy to nervous when doing something new, but pushing through that allowed me to discover new techniques, new designs, and new confidence in myself. I’d tell anyone at the beginning of their journey that success comes from staying open, staying curious, and being brave enough to try; even when you’re not sure how it will turn out.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
The people who have been most helpful to me are definitely my friends and family. They’ve been my biggest supporters from the very beginning. Whenever I’ve faced challenges or needed guidance, they’ve always been there to support me in any way they can. They’ve spent late nights helping me prep, encouraged me when I doubted myself, and celebrated every win with me. Their support hasn’t just helped me build my cookie business; it’s helped me grow as a person. I truly wouldn’t be where I am without them.
