We were lucky to catch up with Brett Stuhler recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brett , looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I feel like I got my work ethic from my parents. But I have also gotten some amazing ideas from bands I’ve seen. I saw how bands treated their vips clients, and applied it to the tattoo business. All I had to do was treat clients like they are walking a red carpet and execute a great tattoo, and I would kick ass

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I’m a tattooer who prides himself on bright bold tattoos that you can see across the room. This has been an incredible year for me. I published a book on Amazon “the art of having fun”. Opened a second location tattoo shop (Tattooine body art or Wrightstown), I got married, and have a docuseries coming out on Amazon prime (I am inked) jan 26th. It will be available worldwide

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
So I have always taught my artists to focus on preparation, visualization and execution. I have never been the best artist, but I will outwork anyone. I don’t always have the time I once had to spend drawing , but I have found ways to find more efficient, and effective ways to get my job done, and run both of my locations all while keeping time set aside to travel and have family time

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Turning 51 this past year, I feel like I’m starting over my life and I’m happy about that but it def makes you think about your own mortality. Getting older is scary, but I try not to think about it. If I know this was it for me, I would continue to create art on people, but I would travel a lot more. I love what I do so much, it fulfills my artistic side, but I also have to balance it with family
