We were lucky to catch up with Samiayah Britton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Samiayah, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Growing up, and even stepping into entrepreneurship, I was used to being the only one in the room who looked like me and who thought outside the box. Whether it was business workshops, planning meetings, or even vendor conversations. There were plenty of moments where I felt like I had to prove myself before I ever opened my mouth. But honestly, that experience shaped the way I lead today.
When I decided to build Magical Vibe Parties—MVP it wasn’t just about opening an indoor playground. It was about creating something I never had: a space where families feel welcomed, kids feel seen, and a community feels supported. Being the only one in the room taught me how to stand firm in my ideas, even when nobody else shared the vision yet.
I remember purchasing my building. Most people saw an old space that needed too much work. But because I was used to being overlooked, I’d learned how to see possibility where others see problems. I saw rooms that would become learning spaces, a café where parents could relax, a marketplace for local sellers, and a playground where kids could be kids in a safe, inclusive environment.
Being the only one in the room taught me resilience. It taught me to ask questions, build relationships, stay professional, and trust my instincts. And those lessons are exactly why MVP exists today. Every program we offer, every event we host, every parent or small business we support. It’s all connected to that journey. I’m showing my daughters, and every child who walks through our doors, that even when the room wasn’t built for you, you can build a new one from the ground up.
So yes, I had to learn how to be effective and successful in rooms where I wasn’t represented. But now, through MVP, I get to create rooms where everyone is.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My journey into entrepreneurship didn’t start with a clear roadmap. It actually started as an hobby. For most of my life, I held manager/leadership positions. The journey started as a stress reliever/ escape from the work world after my 9-5. On weekends, I attended trainings, vendor events, etc. to enhance my skills. As I started to attend more meetings I found myself standing alone in spaces where representation was limited in my industry. Instead of shrinking, I learned to stand stronger. Those moments shaped my confidence, sharpened my instincts, and taught me how to build something meaningful.
That foundation is what inspired Magical Vibe Parties—MVP. What began as a dream has grown into a 7,000 sq ft indoor playground and party center built with intention, creativity, and community at its core. From our café and marketplace to our after-school room, game room, and large multipurpose spaces, MVP is a place families can trust and kids can love.
Over the months, we’ve brought unforgettable moments to life. Fun-filled open-play days, Parent’s Night Out events, our signature holiday celebrations, seasonal craft activities, and community experiences like our Vendor events, holiday events, and themed parties for families. Every event is created with heart and purpose, giving parents peace of mind and giving children a space to feel safe, included, and excited to return.
Today, as MVP continues to grow, I’m committed to expanding opportunities for families and small businesses in our community. We’re building a diverse marketplace in our gift shop, designing after-school programs, developing educational experiences, and constantly adding new games, activities, and creative moments for children ages 1–10. Everything we offer comes from a place of passion, innovation, and a deep desire to serve people well.
My story and MVP’s story is about representation, resilience, and building the kind of space I once needed. I want every child who walks through our doors, especially the ones who feel like they’re “the only one,” to know they belong. I want families to feel supported, parents to feel relieved, and the community to feel seen. Through MVP, I’m not just creating rooms. I’m creating environments where everyone is welcome, valued, and celebrated.
This is who I am. This is what I stand for. And this is the magic behind MVP.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Vision + Adaptability… See potential in what others overlook.
Resilience + Confidence… Stand strong even when you’re the only one in the room.
Community-Focused Leadership… Build something bigger than yourself.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Absolutely. Collaboration is a huge part of how MVP has grown, and it’s something I’m always open to. MVP was built to be a community centered space, so partnering with people who bring value, creativity, and passion is important to me.
