We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Galvy Ngimukua a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Galvy, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
For me, overcoming imposter syndrome starts with believing in myself. I’ve realized that self-belief really is the foundation for chasing any goal or dream. If I don’t believe I belong in the rooms I’m stepping into, it becomes harder to show up the way I need to.
I also lean a lot on the people around me. I have mentors who’ve already accomplished things I’m working toward, and they help guide me through the process. My family and friends are a huge part of it too… they’re always encouraging me, pushing me to step outside my comfort zone, and reminding me of who I am when I start doubting myself.
And honestly, a big part of overcoming those thoughts comes from my faith. Whenever I feel uncertain or like I don’t “fit” somewhere, I remind myself that God placed me on this path for a reason. If He brought me here, then I’m meant to be here. So, when those moments of doubt hit, I just go back to trusting Him.
That combination of self-belief, a strong support system, and my relationship with God is what helps me move past imposter syndrome.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Professionally, I’m focused on building Witness Greatness, a faith-driven streetwear brand centered on purpose, culture, and everyday wear. The goal is to create pieces that feel modern and expressive, but also carry meaning without being overly explained.
What’s most exciting right now is the growth phase. I’m building the brand while pursuing my MBA alongside experienced founders and mentors, which has helped me sharpen how I approach design and long-term vision. There’s been a lot of momentum, and it feels like things are coming together.
WG is continuing to evolve; refining its look and voice and focusing on staple pieces people can actually live in. There are a few new releases coming up, along with some things happening behind the scenes that I’m excited about but not ready to share yet.
Overall, it’s a fun and intentional season, and I’m looking forward to what’s next.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Looking back, the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey so far would be being coachable, believing in myself, and staying curious and persistent.
First, being coachable has made a huge difference. Learning to really listen… to feedback, to advice, to constructive criticism, has helped me grow in ways I wouldn’t have been able to on my own. Not every piece of advice will apply to you, so discernment is important, but being open to learning from people who have more experience will take you far.
The second quality is self-belief. I’ve mentioned this before, but it truly is the foundation of pursuing anything meaningful. You have to believe you’re capable before anything else can fall into place. That mindset shift alone can change the way you approach your goals.
And the third quality is staying eager to learn and being persistent. Your journey will come with setbacks and hurdles, everyone’s does. But if you stay curious, keep learning, and remain resilient when things get tough, you’ll be able to navigate those challenges much more smoothly.
So that would be my advice for anyone early in their journey.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
Over the last 12 months, my biggest area of growth has been learning to trust myself, my decisions, and my own inner voice. I’ve gotten a lot better at not seeking validation from external sources and instead relying on the confidence that I’m on the path I’m meant to be on.
I’ve noticed I’m no longer as double-minded when making decisions. I’m more grounded, more sure of myself, and more willing to trust the wisdom I’ve gained from past experiences. I still value advice from others, but I’ve learned how to balance that with my own intuition. At the end of the day, I know myself best, and I’ve grown a lot in letting that guide me.
