We recently connected with Jullian Bascome and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jullian, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
It’s funny. I feel as though we’re always told we have a purpose, but never how to find it or unlock it, and truthfully, it’s because we don’t have to. It’s right in front of our faces. For me, I realized that my purpose, my passion, and my gifts all fell under the same umbrella. They were the things that came easy to me. The things that took little to no effort. The things I found joy and fulfillment in, and that’s music.
Once I came to that realization, I began to flourish in my craft and the doors started opening. Living authentically and in your purpose will truly create such a meaningful, rewarding life.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I like to say that I am a Creator & Innovator! That’s my story in a nutshell. Music has always been my first love, since the mere age of 5 and it’s been that way ever since! Like we touched on regarding our purpose, once I tapped into mine, all the doors started opening, both creatively and professionally.
Currently, my twin brother and I run our Youtube Channel “The Bascome Twins” where we react to and dissect music, both current and past. We’ve taken the time to cultivate a Community and safe place, where music is at the center. I am also working on my own, personal music, perfecting my songwriting and storytelling. My plan is to begin releasing in the early part of 2026, alongside visuals, EPs and more!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities I feel impacted my journey the most would be my: creativity, sincerity and resilience! I say those three because I haven’t always possessed those characteristics. Being an entrepreneur comes with a lot of highs & lows. It’s a very nontraditional job and it takes an immense amount of belief in one’s craft! It’s definitely built overtime!
The advice given can be very cliche, especially when geared towards a creative, however, it stands true. 1). Wholeheartedly believe in what you do. Make sure it’s a life you can picture yourself living 30 years from now. 2). The moment you feel the need to give up, is the moment you go harder. I truly believe that things that come easy don’t last long. Appreciate the good & bad times. They’re building character and resilience even if it doesn’t look like it in the moment. And 3). Choose yourself. The life you’re building is yours, and yours only. Make sure every move you make is one step closer to your goal, your peace and your utmost happiness.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed, I oddly allow myself to sit in it. I sit in the discomfort. I sit in the unknown. I sit in my feelings and give myself the opportunity to feel them. I’m very conscious about not giving myself a false sense of reality or covering too many things with bandaids. Sometimes you have to sit in it, to get yourself out of it. In the same breath, that isn’t always doable and an escape is needed. It’s all about knowing yourself and how you manage. And that would be my first set of advice. LEARN HOW YOU OPERATE in both the good & bad times. Learn how to regulate your feelings but also feel them. Give yourself the space to process and reflect. It all goes hand in hand.
