Meet Erica Davila

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Erica Davila a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Erica , so great to have you with us and thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts with the community. So, let’s jump into something that stops so many people from going after their dreams – haters, nay-sayers, etc. We’d love to hear about how you dealt with that and persisted on your path.

When I first began sharing my business in the online space, I was often nervous and frequently doubted myself. I avoided going LIVE or posting content on social media because I feared judgment and was overly concerned with the opinions of others. However, I soon recognized an important truth: haters and naysayers do not pay my bills, nor do they live with the consequences of my decisions—I do. Once I embraced that reality, everything changed. I shifted my attention toward personal growth—reading books, taking courses, and surrounding myself with individuals who inspired and motivated me.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?

I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart for nearly 24 years, and together we’ve raised two beautiful daughters who keep me inspired, grounded, who fuel my ambition and push me to keep leveling up. Coming from a family of ten siblings, I learned early the power of perseverance, connection, and believing in something larger than yourself. My professional journey is rooted in helping others rise. As a real estate agent, I have the privilege of walking alongside families as they step into possibilities they never imagined. Witnessing someone achieve the dream of homeownership—often after thinking it was out of reach—reminds me every day why this work matters. My mission is simple: to empower people to rise higher than they ever thought they could. I’m here to challenge, inspire, and help others unlock the potential they’ve always had inside them.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that shaped my journey most were clarity, community, and courage. I learned to take radical ownership of my life, understanding that no one else is responsible for my happiness, my choices, or the person I become—at the end of everything, it’s just you and the life you chose to build. I also realized the power of surrounding myself with people who uplift, inspire, and celebrate me, those who see my potential even on the days I struggle to see it myself. And perhaps most importantly, I discovered that real growth requires stepping outside my comfort zone and pushing myself to do the things that feel uncomfortable but are necessary for reaching the level I want to achieve. For anyone early in their journey, my advice is simple: it is never too late to change who you are or what you want in life. Every day you open your eyes is another opportunity to move closer to your goals. Stay open to discomfort, trust the process, and don’t quit just because the results aren’t instant—your persistence will carry you farther than you can imagine.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?

Honestly, for me, the first thing I do is stop and breathe. I remind myself that in this exact moment, I am okay—and sometimes that simple truth is enough to ground me.

Most of the time, feeling overwhelmed comes from worrying about things that haven’t even happened yet. It’s the overthinking, the “what ifs,” the fear of future outcomes we can’t control. But when I pause, breathe, and come back to the present, I remember that I don’t have to carry the weight of every possibility at once.

As long as I do my best—truly try, without giving up or giving in to the chaos—I trust that everything will work out. Life tends to unfold in the way it’s meant to, at the time it’s supposed to.

So if you’re overwhelmed today, take a moment. Breathe. Remind yourself:
You are okay right now.
You’re doing your best.
And things have a way of aligning when the time is right.
