We recently connected with Brett Galley and have shared our conversation below.
Brett, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I wasn’t born into a Luxury career, I grew into it and gained credibility along the way~ For a long time, I felt like working with Jon Bon Jovi, Katy Perry, Tony Bennet, Barack Obama, Diana Ross, successful CEOs, and various leaders was a fluke.
I felt I had to constantly prove that I deserved to be in the rooms I was in. No matter how many beautiful events, productions and experiences I created or how much praise I received, there was always a little voice whispering, “Are you sure you’re good enough?
”What changed my perspective was realizing that my talent isn’t something I need to earn—it’s something I already have.
My eye for detail, my creativity, the way I bring calm to chaos and turn ideas into experiences… those things are real, and they’ve been with me all along.
I finally stopped brushing off my accomplishments and started actually acknowledging them. I let myself be proud. I let myself take up space. And I surrounded myself with people who reminded me of who I am on the days I forget.
Imposter syndrome still knocks sometimes, but it doesn’t get to run the show anymore. I’ve learned to recognize my value, trust my instincts, and own the fact that I am exactly where I am meant to be.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Brett Galley Events + Destinations / Hollywood POP creates experiences that people remember for the rest of their lives. As an international luxury event producer + designer, my work blends storytelling, design, emotion, and logistics into one seamless journey. Whether it’s a destination wedding overlooking the ocean, an immersive themed celebration, or a once-in-a-lifetime corporate concert or gala, our goal is always the same: to make every moment feel intentional, effortless, and extraordinary.
What excites me most is the transformation—taking a concept, a feeling, or even just a color palette, and bringing it to life in a way that makes people stop, breathe, and feel something. I love the magic that happens when all the details come together: the scent as guests walk into a room, the textures, the lighting, the sound, the surprise elements that make someone smile or tear up. It’s storytelling, but in 3D—and with human emotion at the center.
Another special part of my work is the relationships. I get to guide clients through some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. I become their steady hand, their creative partner, and their advocate. It’s an honor I take seriously, and a privilege I never take for granted.
Our Brand:
Our brand is built on curated luxury, personal connection, and a genuine love for the art of celebration. I believe that excellence is found in the details, and that hospitality—true, heartfelt hospitality—is a form of artistry in itself.
I’m constantly inspired by travel, architecture, fashion, and the natural world. Every event is a blank canvas, and I approach it with fresh eyes, a refined aesthetic, and a deep commitment to elevating the guest experience.
What’s New & What’s Ahead:
I’m thrilled about what’s coming next. This year, I’m expanding my destination event offerings, especially in some of the world’s most breathtaking locations—from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean to hidden gems clients haven’t even heard of yet.
I’m also developing a new set of curated services tailored to clients who want a more immersive, signature creative direction—think bespoke design concepts, scent-scaping, custom entertainment curation, and layered sensory storytelling.
And on the horizon, we are working on content and resources that will inspire both clients and fellow event professionals, sharing the behind-the-scenes knowledge, planning insights, and creative inspiration that have shaped my career.
Not to forget to mention a book of some of our most inspiring celebrations, personalized Event Scents, Candles and additional theatrically based e-commerce items.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three Qualities That Truly Shaped My Journey
Trusting My Creative Instincts
One of the biggest turning points for me was learning to trust my own eye. I’ve always been drawn to beauty, emotion, and storytelling, but it took time to realize that my perspective was not just valid—it was valuable. Once I leaned into my instincts, everything opened up. My work became more authentic, more intentional, and more me.
My advice:
Start paying attention to what inspires you personally—not what you think you’re “supposed” to like. The more you honor your natural creative impulses, the stronger and more confident your voice becomes.
Building Genuine Relationships
My career has been shaped by the people I’ve met along the way. Clients, vendors, partners—many of them have become friends, collaborators, and constant sources of inspiration. Those relationships have carried me through challenges, celebrated my wins, and helped me grow in ways I never expected.
My advice:
Be real with people. Be warm. Be human. BE YOURSELF! Show appreciation often. The connections you nurture early in your journey will become the foundation of your future.
Grace Under Pressure
In this industry, things rarely go exactly as planned. What helped me grow the most was learning to breathe through the chaos and problem-solve with clarity rather than panic. Staying calm became my secret superpower—and it’s something clients deeply appreciate.
My advice:
When something goes sideways (and it will), pause before reacting. Ask yourself, What’s the best solution right now? Getting comfortable with uncertainty is a skill you build over time, and it will make you unstoppable.
Final Thoughts for Anyone Just Starting Out:
Please remember: you don’t need to have everything figured out to begin with. The confidence, the voice, the style, the expertise—all of that comes from showing up, trying, stumbling, learning, and trying again. Give yourself grace. Stay curious. And don’t dim your light to fit in—your unique spark is the very thing that will set you apart.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
