Meet Stefan Amali

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Stefan Amali . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Stefan , thanks so much for taking the time to share your insights and lessons with us today. We’re particularly interested in hearing about how you became such a resilient person. Where do you get your resilience from?
I’d say being Jamaican is a big source of my resilience. After seeing the passage of damage that Hurricane Melissa has caused, my Jamaican people need to tap into that spirit of resilience more than ever. My hope is to be able to achieve some major things in my business and career that can help reinstate a sense of hope in our people , especially in the creative sector.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
As we prepare for 2026, we are elated with the trajectory of all our brands. Hi Esteem Agency celebrated it’s six (6) year anniversary in November and we are confident that as an agency, we have done Caribbean culture proud with the quality of our client acquisition and talent acquisition. Trinidad & Tobago continues to be one of our strongest markets and we are so proud to have signed some talents that we have sought after for a long time like Kaitlin Camacho.

Our fashion design platform/ brand Female Superiority has launched and the first collection “The Seneca Collection” is doing well in Latin America. Territories like Honduras have already gravitated to the brand in a meaningful way. We are gearing up to launch our second collection which we are super excited about it, as it fuses functional active wear way with aesthetically pleasing designs.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
It always has to start with confidence. Confidence is the basis of all my success. Being a creative entrepreneur from the developing world is hard. The socio-economic realities that people from the developing world face daily, sometimes makes it difficult to dream. People’s lack of ability to be confident in the direction of their own life can easily be projected on you. Therefore it’s imperative to have unwavering confidence in your vision and ability.

Diligence would be the next quality that I would extol, as impactful on the journey. Often times as creatives, we only want to do the creative things we enjoying doing but success in any industry requires a bit more than just doing the tasks you like. You have to be willing to do the boring , mundane tasks with the same efficacy as the exciting, creative tasks. That mindset will give you the competitive edge over many creatives.

Thirdly, I’d say self awareness. As a business leader, being misunderstood is apart of the course and if you do not possess an unwavering sense of self , it will be very easy to be dismayed by negative, misguided opinions detractors may have of you. Therefore knowledge of self is critical, as it enables an individual to endure the potential misunderstandings that might prevail about their character, without the need for validation.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
