Dammon, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Ahhh, so… first and foremost, thank you for welcoming me back to your platform and for holding space for me. Secondly—whew!—the sheer number of questions had me clutching my imaginary pearls for a second. As a writer, and someone who spends their mornings helping folks set the tone for a good day (or at least a day that meets them where they’re at), I had to laugh a little. Y’all did not come to play!

Ohhhh… so rather than me trying to craft some long, verbose, eloquently written response, I’ll keep it simple.

I personally do not believe we find our purpose. I believe our purpose finds us.
One day we’re just out here doing the things we love, showing up for ourselves, minding our business—and then a revelation taps us on the shoulder. A moment of gratitude. A moment of clarity. And suddenly you’re sitting there, a little stunned, thinking (or even saying out loud), “Ahhh! So this is what I’m supposed to be doing!”

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m a ordained spiritualist, I help folks ground themselves and or explore spirituality through tools like nature, self empowerment and tarot, you’re free to be whatever religion you are to come, just respect our space and save your religious dictations and fear mongering for elsewhere. A safe space for all who are not homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist- in any form or those that body shame. I’m a licensed cosmologist. Wynter Wonderland Productions-Built off the foundation I started as “Gucci” when I was a Gogo dancer, Naomi Wynters, (my drag persona & stage name) took over the torch and further helped to refine my resume and skills. I’ve held several pageant titles, created shows and new experiences plus put in countless hours of charity work since 2006. Expanding this to not only a record label, Event & A/V Production company, but so much more that has yet to be revealed. stay tuned… WWP is also home to my prelim, Miss #IthinkImfunny, which is a prelim to National Miss Comedy Queen. (I competed in 2016, made the top 10 and won the Tweeka Weed Originality Award.)

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1) SHOW UP FOR YOURSELF!! However, you can without over extending yourself, without disrespecting your boundaries or being a people pleaser. SHOW up for you. Show UP Authentically. SHOW up genuinely. BE KIND! BE CRINGE!! BE HAPPY!

2) READ & COMPREHEND!!! If you read and don’t understand. Ask questions to reputable, factual sources that you’ve researched and ensured are validated. If you don’t ask, how will you know? Don’t be a TROLL. ASK to understand and LEARN to understand.

3) Even if you’re alone. DO IT! Do it by yourself. It’s your dream, your goals. If you have a support team AMAZING!!! IF you’re showing up just because you only have you. THAT’s okay. You’ll cry and be sad, but keep going! 🙂 You’ll be so happy with yourself. TRUST yourself!

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am looking for folks to collaborate with. I would love to find more people that possess the ability to work together effectively for a greater cause or even for the greater creation of art. I’m not looking to collaborate with racists, homophobic, transphobic, sexist (overly misogynists/feminist). I am a body positive spiritualist. Yes, I am a drag queen. That aspect is not going anywhere. I would love more driven black creatives to work with first and foremost(men, women or in between) and then whomever else. I’m looking for creatives that can be themselves and think independently, genuinely and authentically. These would be people that could trust themselves to work on their own without micromanagement , while staying on task, within guidelines/on the subject and completely the task in an efficient and quality yet timely manner. I would prefer to be around people with actual skills/abilities/talents that posses the ability to communicate their strengths without making others feel uneducated or less than. These creatives would need to understand their role is just as important as everyone else’s to accomplish the goal. I’d like to collaborate with folks that “do” and don’t just “show” or “talk” about doing. Loyalty matters. Trust matters. Communication matters. Respect of boundaries matters. Individuality, authenticity, accountability, all matter! Collaborators being able to manage their time and understanding their own mental health matters and taking strides to make changes for their own bettering. People like that. Those are the People that don’t come to take from the table but to value add to. Those are the people that have a voice that’s being drowned out by the chaos.
