We recently connected with Renee Malone and have shared our conversation below.
Renee, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
“Experience is the best teacher.”- Julius Caesar. When I started in 2015, we were homeless in a motel, in transition to move into an apartment, and at the time, I did not have a car. I had to catch the bus to sell at events and make money to help my family, and 10 years later, I can say that I am proud of the journey I’ve come from. I don’t regret any parts of my journey, and the lessons that I have learned is that everyone struggles however if you can help in any way shape or form with any skills that is your best ally is somebody willing to help you and teach you things that you need to learn and grow as a business person or entrepreneur and that everybody has a vision. Still, it takes organization to bring 4th or give life to that vision and make that a long-running, long-standing business. Remind me how it took patience and hard lessons to survive in this business.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Pampered Life Naturals is an all-natural, plant-based skincare company based in South Los Angeles, founded in 2015 by you, Renee. The company’s core philosophy is to use ingredients that are simple, recognizable, and free from harsh chemicals, driven by your personal need for sensitive, natural products. Product Offerings create over 20 different natural skin and body care products, including: Natural Soaps, Body Butters, Body Scrubs, Facial and Body Serums, Shower Steamers, Tablets, Bath Salts & Bath Milk, Dish Soap & Laundry Soap, and Limited Hair Care Products. Your preferred ingredients include natural elements like cocoa butter, shea butter, lavender, and calendula flowers. Business Pivot: From Pop-Up to Instructional Originally focusing on pop-up vendor shows in LA County, since last year, Pamperlife Naturals has pivoted to an instructional business model that blends skincare education with self-esteem building. This includes consulting other skincare makers on product improvement. Composting and participation in workshops for non-profits and community groups. Wellness & Self-Esteem The instructional workshops are a cornerstone of your current business, often conducted for non-profits. The classes are designed to: Engage all five senses. Promote a sense of accomplishment and pride in making one’s own products (like bread or simple facial masks). Workshop Topics Include: Essential Oils, Making Body Butter, Making Candles, and Your Own Facial Mask. Impact & Mission: Your mission is to promote good and healthy skincare alongside good self-esteem. You’ve observed that having affordable, natural skincare can significantly boost confidence, helping people engage in social settings, dating, and work life when they previously felt inferior. How to Engage with Pamperlife Naturals: Activity Details. In-person classes require a minimum of 20 people to be scheduled. Kits are purchased separately. Online Classes are free as long as you purchase a product kit. Kits are priced differently but include all necessary ingredients, containers, spatulas, and fragrances. Class Duration: Classes are between 1 hour and 1 hour 45 minutes. One-on-one consultations (30 minutes to 1 hour long) are offered with a class kit purchase or for anyone with skincare questions. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three skills that I think people should have when it comes to getting to your goals and being resilient it’s just being open for failure one thing that I have never learned is how to feel it’s and it’s important to learn how to rebound after failure and also when somebody says no no is not the final answer that’s one thing that I learned is that not to get discouraged when somebody tells you no because it could be one or two things one it may not be your time and two it may not be that person and maybe you need to meet somebody else in that same industry or in the same position and maybe you can get a yes from that person so that one’s two things that I can tell you that you need to learn and also is optimism it is so easy to feel discouraged and pessimistic and even jaded when it comes to the journey and becoming an entrepreneur or business owner because it’s just not it’s not for the unskilled it’s not for the knowledgeable it’s not for the encouraging to somebody that’s willing to weather all storms to get to the goals that they need to go get to accomplish whatever they need to succeed into their business so that’s that’s one that that’s a few things that can say that helps the journey make an impactful resolution when it comes to skill sets and knowledge and experience and education is that yes those paths are windy some are straight but some are very windy some are very murky and you just have to learn how to navigate those windy and Murphy lanes and continue to have confidence and continue to be encouraged and continue to be empathetic especially towards others and others that are lacking and their needs if you can help somebody in their Journey even if even if you are lacking in yours that that might be a blessing in disguise cuz partnership is key because like they say it’s not what you know sometimes is who you know that gives you in the door.

I’m looking for people who love people like me, who are tenacious and consistent, who work in commercial real estate. Our dream is to have a brick-and-mortar for our retail and workshop space.
