Meet Kristina Ogden

We recently connected with Kristina Ogden and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristina, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?

I get my work ethic from both of my parents. I grew up in a single-income home. My dad worked nights my whole life. Watching him come home exhausted, sleep for a few hours, and then still find ways to be present for us taught me a lot about dedication, consistency, and doing what needs to be done even when it is not easy. He set the tone for what commitment really looks like.

At the same time, my mom carried just as much of the load in a different role. She raised four children, homeschooled us, kept the house running, and cooked every meal. She created structure, stability, and a sense of responsibility in our home. Her level of discipline and attention to everything we needed showed me that hard work is not always loud or visible, but it is felt in the quality of what you give to others.

Together, they taught me that responsibility, follow through, and integrity are not optional. Growing up with their example showed me that you may not have everything, but you never have to go without if you are willing to work for the life you want. Their influence is the reason I lead the way I do today by showing up consistently, taking ownership, and setting a standard through my actions rather than my words.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’m an accountant by trade with about thirteen years of experience, and over time I’ve built a portfolio that blends both my professional skills and the things I’m passionate about. Outside of work, I’m deeply dedicated to jiu-jitsu and weight training, which have both shaped my mindset and discipline.

Professionally, I offer freelance bookkeeping and financial support for both individuals and businesses. I help with everything from organizing books to tax planning, preparation, and filing. My goal is to make finances feel clear, manageable, and strategic for the people I work with, no matter what stage their business or personal finances are in.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Looking back, the three qualities that have had the biggest impact on my journey are discipline, integrity, and adaptability. Discipline has allowed me to stay consistent in both my career as an accountant and my dedication to jiu-jitsu and weight training. Integrity has been essential in building trust with clients and colleagues and in holding myself accountable to a higher standard. Adaptability has helped me navigate changes in both business and personal pursuits, whether it’s learning new financial systems or adjusting my approach in training and competition.

For anyone early in their journey, my advice would be to focus on building strong character qualities through small, consistent actions. Show up even when it’s tough, take responsibility for your work and your growth, and be willing to adjust and learn when things don’t go as planned. The habits you build now will compound over time and set the foundation for long-term success.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?

I’m always open to partnering or collaborating with like-minded individuals and businesses. I’m especially interested in connecting with entrepreneurs, small business owners, and creatives who are looking for support with bookkeeping, tax planning, financial strategy, or overall business guidance. I’m also open to collaborating with people in the fitness or jiu-jitsu community on projects that align with my passions.
