We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bree Teeples a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Bree with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
I get my work ethic from my parents and the way I was raised. My mother stayed home and managed our household, while my father worked as a drywaller. He left for work before the sun came up and rarely made it home before it went down. We didn’t have much money, but my mother knew how to stretch every dollar, and my father deeply respected her for that. From them, I learned that nothing is handed to you—if you want something, you work for it and earn it yourself, because no one else is going to do it for you.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m a licensed aesthetician and microblading technician, certified in eyelash extensions, spray tanning, and microdermabrasion. I truly love what I do because I get to help people feel good about themselves and confident in their own skin. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than seeing someone smile because they love what they see when they look in the mirror.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
One of my greatest strengths is choosing the hard path and seeing it through—I do what I say I’m going to do. I stay humble, remember why I chose this career, and protect the joy that fuels my work so I can give that to others. While making a living matters, genuine growth comes from putting care and passion before money. My advice to other entrepreneurs is to prioritize self-care as well—take small moments for yourself so that as you build and give to others, you don’t lose sight of what you’re working for.
Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My parents shaped my work ethic with a “work for what you want” mindset, but it’s my kids who truly drive me. As a full-time single mom and solo entrepreneur, my motivation comes from pure determination and the desire to provide a beautiful life for them.
