We’re looking forward to introducing you to Virginie Delaitre. Check out our conversation below.
Virginie, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity, without question. As a UX Marketing leader, I believe that trust is the foundation of every meaningful interaction, whether it is with a client, a team member, or a customer. Intelligence and energy are valuable, but without integrity, they can lead you in the wrong direction. In my field, integrity means putting the user first, being transparent about intentions, and resisting the temptation of quick wins that compromise long-term relationships. It is how we build marketing that feels human, not manipulative. And it is the reason UX Marketing exists in the first place, to align strategy with sincerity.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am Ginny Delaitre, an award-winning Marketing Director and the creator of UX Marketing. I specialize in building user-first marketing systems that drive clarity, accelerate growth, and connect strategy with measurable outcomes. With over thirteen years of experience across web, mobile, and AI-powered platforms, I help organizations improve their positioning, unify cross-functional teams, and create stronger engagement across digital channels.
In 2023, I launched UX Marketing as a new methodology that brings user experience principles into the core of marketing. Instead of relying on aggressive promotions or disconnected funnels, it focuses on building trust and making every touchpoint feel clear, relevant, and respectful. I also founded the UX Marketing Institute to provide education, certification, and structure around this new discipline.
I have worked with startups, small businesses, and mission-driven companies in both the United States and Europe, often stepping into a fractional leadership role to create direction and cohesion across marketing efforts. I currently serve as Marketing Director at MustWants, where I apply UX Marketing principles to drive strategic clarity, team alignment, and meaningful user engagement. My work focuses on building systems that support long-term growth while staying grounded in transparency, collaboration, and a deep respect for the user journey.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
What breaks bonds is not always a lack of love or care. Often, it is when communication becomes reactive, when clarity is lost, and when we stop showing up with intention. It happens when we let stress or distraction take over and forget to choose each other with care. What restores those bonds, in my experience, is integrity, not in a grand gesture, but in the quiet commitment to be honest, kind, and consistent. I have seen what happens when two people agree—not formally, but deeply—to treat each other with gentleness and respect. That shift, that quiet agreement to hold each other better, can bring something back to life that once felt broken.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, I think we all do. I am now on the path to permanent residency in the United States, but my journey began seven years ago when I arrived as a student, and then on a business visa. As an immigrant, I faced more challenges than I ever expected. During COVID and even more so after, when things should have been getting easier, they became harder. I almost gave up many times when hope faded, and everything felt out of reach. Bonds were broken, and they felt like they were lost. In those moments, it was easy to believe that nothing could be repaired or rebuilt. But each time, I came back to myself and to the person I truly want to be.
I stopped listening to what people said about me, especially the criticism that was untrue or rooted in temporary situations. I reclaimed my power by focusing on the one thing I could always control: my own choices. That shift allowed me to start building a future on my terms, one that could not be reversed or taken away by anyone else. And once I made that choice, giving up stopped being an option. I was back in control, and from there, things began to change.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am committed to making a meaningful change in the world through my work and my values. That does not mean changing everything at once, but creating real impact in a realistic and grounded way. For me, that means working with companies whose values I trust, organizations that lead with integrity and care. It also means shifting the marketing industry itself. Through UX Marketing, I am helping reshape how businesses communicate by centering empathy, transparency, and user experience. I believe in spreading ideas that make the world better, and I am willing to do that work for as long as it takes.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What are you doing today that won’t pay off for 7–10 years?
Right now, I am deeply involved in go-to-market strategy and in helping startups and growing tech businesses build a strong foundation. I am enabling brands to rise from the ground up, how to lead through uncertainty, and how to bring structure where there is none. These are not fast wins. I know that the real payoff will come years from now, when I am trusted to lead at a larger scale. This work is shaping the leader I am becoming, building on the recognition I received this year with the Emerging Leader in Business award, and preparing me for the kind of responsibility and impact I aim to carry into my early forties. It takes time to earn that kind of trust, and I am building it day by day.
