Jamie Bonfante shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Jamie, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Absolutely , a thousand times yes! I’m a 2023 bride who didn’t hire a videographer or a content creator, and it is genuinely one of my biggest wedding-day regrets. There are so many parts of my day that I never got to see, fully appreciate, or relive. Moments I only know existed because someone snapped a shaky, blurry video or because I can piece together the story from photos.
That experience is exactly why I’m so passionate about what I do now. Content creation isn’t just for influencers or “the modern bride.” It’s for anyone and everyone who wants to feel the heartbeat of their wedding day long after it ends. The laughter, the nerves, the reactions, the in-between moments you miss while living them.
If I could go back, I would hire myself in a heartbeat. Not just because I believe in the quality of my work, but because I now understand the weight of those fleeting, once-in-a-lifetime memories. Being able to relive them, clearly, fully, and emotionally, is priceless. And that’s exactly what I provide for my couples.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jamie Bonfante, and I’m the founder of BTS With Bonfante, Greenville’s first dedicated wedding content creation company. I started my business after being a 2023 bride who didn’t hire a videographer or content creator, and I deeply regret it. There were so many moments from my own wedding day that I never got to truly see or relive, and all I had were a handful of blurry, shaky clips to hold onto. That feeling shaped everything about the brand I built.
BTSWB was created so couples never have to feel that same regret. We specialize in capturing the raw, emotional, behind-the-scenes moments that often go unseen, the hugs, the details, the reactions, and the heart of the day that slips by so quickly. We deliver everything within 24–72 hours, so couples can relive their wedding while they’re still in the glow of it.
What makes BTSWB so special is that it isn’t just for influencers or “modern brides.” It’s for anyone who values presence, emotion, and memory. My mission is to preserve the moments you didn’t get to witness, the ones you forgot in the rush, and the ones that become your favorite stories long after the wedding ends.
Alongside BTSWB, I’m also a social media manager for wedding professionals across the Southeast, helping bring their brands to life through authentic strategy and storytelling. At the heart of everything I do is the same purpose: helping people feel seen, celebrated, and remembered!
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I was raised to believe that you needed a college degree or formal education to become somebody or to do something important.
I did go to college and earned a degree in psychology, and while I value the experience, it’s not a degree that directly applies to the businesses I run today. What I’ve learned since is that your purpose isn’t determined by a diploma. Passion, discipline, creativity, and a willingness to carve your own path can take you places a classroom never could
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
When I started my first social media management agency, I failed, and I failed hard. I had no leads, no clear processes, and no real strategy for scaling. Eventually, I just gave up. I conditioned myself to believe that I wasn’t capable of making it as a social media manager, that I didn’t have what it took, and that I would always need someone else to help me get there.
But that failure ended up being one of the most important turning points of my life. I changed my way of thinking and chose to treat that failure as feedback instead of a dead end. I poured myself into learning, refining, and rebuilding with intention. I focused on creating something unique, rooted in authenticity and strategy.
Today, that mindset shift is what allowed me to build Greenville’s first boutique social media and content creation company specifically for wedding vendors. What once felt like proof that I wasn’t enough became the foundation for the business I’m so proud of now. Failure didn’t define me, it redirected me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d tell you that at my core, I care most about my little family, my husband & our dog, and creating a life that feels joyful, balanced, and intentional with them. They know that every goal I chase and every business I build is ultimately driven by wanting to give us a life we can truly enjoy while doing work that lights me up
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I wore my heart on my sleeve. That I loved deeply, felt passionately, and showed up fully for the people and things that mattered most to me. That I was someone who would do anything for the people I loved, and that I always led with intention, compassion, and others in mind before myself.
If the story people tell is that they felt cared for, supported, and genuinely seen by me, then that’s a life well lived
