We’re looking forward to introducing you to Courtney Rogers. Check out our conversation below.
Courtney, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
I would have to say energy. Intelligence can be taught and integrity can be found, but energy is who a person is and how they influence the space they are in.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Courtney Rogers, the photographer and artist behind Struchen Photography. Originally from the Midwest, I moved to the Four Corners and fell in love with the quiet beauty and unexpected magic of a place most people see as “just the desert.” Through my work, I aim to highlight the uniqueness hidden in these wide-open spaces and bring out the stories, emotions, and connections that make each session special. Struchen Photography is all about seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary. Whether I’m photographing couples, families, portraits, or creative concepts, I use my artistic eye and background in mental health to create a comfortable, authentic experience where people feel truly seen. I’m currently rebuilding and expanding my brand here in the Four Corners, blending creativity, intention, and the subtle beauty of the desert landscape to offer something meaningful and unique to every client.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I see myself is the one I share with my husband, Levi. He has consistently shown me what patience, grace, and genuine support look like, especially on the days when I struggled to offer those things to myself. Through his encouragement, he’s reminded me of my own strength, my worth, and my ability to pursue the dreams I once doubted I could reach. His belief in me has changed the way I move through the world and the way I see myself, both as a person and as an artist.
Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
Something I quietly miss is the old farmhouse I lived in when I was four—the one that watched over a winding creek. Winters wrapped the yard in snow while deer moved softly through the trees, and summers were full of small adventures, like catching a snake in my room. I still think about the Harley rides down the long driveway, the wind and the laughter. It was a brief chapter, but it left a lasting sense of magic and belonging that I still carry with me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth so foundational in my life that I rarely put it into words is that every person deserves basic respect. It’s a quiet principle that guides how I move through the world—seeing people as human first; no exceptions, no conditions. I believe deeply that we are all connected, all worthy of compassion, kindness, and dignity no matter their story. To me, humanity isn’t something you earn—it’s something you’re born with.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think the biggest misunderstanding about my legacy might be the belief that my career choices were motivated by pursuing fields that could offer good financial returns. In reality, every path I’ve chosen—whether in photography or mental health—has been rooted in my desire to support, uplift, and truly be present for others. My work is about helping people feel seen, understood, and valued, and about capturing the moments that define a life. The heart behind what I do has always mattered far more to me than any potential payout.
