We recently had the chance to connect with Belinda Mason and have shared our conversation below.
Belinda , really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would hire myself.
I am dependable, hardworking, and committed to excellence in everything I do. I bring strong leadership, compassion, and the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure. I learn quickly, adapt fast, and I don’t give up easily. I communicate well with people from all walks of life, and I take pride in going above and beyond what is expected.
I am someone who shows up, follows through, and adds value wherever I am placed.
Hiring me means hiring dedication, integrity, and results.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
WE R WOW: A Movement on Wheels, A Mission from the Heart
In a world where community service is needed more than ever, one organization is proving that compassion, unity, and empowerment can ride together in perfect sync. We R WOW is not a motorcycle club — it is a nonprofit movement built by independent women who share two powerful passions: helping their communities and embracing the freedom of the open road.
Founded on the belief that every woman has a purpose and every act of service matters, We R WOW brings together riders from all walks of life. Whether you drive a car, ride a bike, or roll on two or three wheels, WOW opens its doors to anyone with the desire to make a difference.
What sets WOW apart is not the type of motorcycle we ride, but the heart behind the handlebars. As we travel across cities and states, we carry with us a mission rooted in goodwill, empowerment, and unity. Our volunteers dedicate countless hours to raising awareness on issues that impact society — from youth empowerment to elderly support — always showing up where the need is greatest.
Across the globe, WOW women share one purpose: to lift others up. Each ride, each event, each project reflects our commitment to serving those who often go unseen. Our initiatives stretch far beyond the road, reaching deep into the communities we love.
One of the most meaningful aspects of our organization is our work with two groups especially close to our hearts: the elderly and individuals with autism. Through focused outreach, WOW provides emotional support, essential resources, and joyful experiences to the elderly — many of whom feel forgotten or overlooked. We show them love, respect, and companionship, reminding them they are valued.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who taught you the most about work?
The people who taught me the most about work were my parents. They led by example, showing me that real success is built on integrity, consistency, and heart. From them I learned to show up, work hard, stay humble, and treat every person with respect — no matter who they are.
They taught me that work is not just a task; it is a reflection of your character. Their lessons shaped the leader I am today and continue to guide everything I do, from community service to building WOW and serving the people who depend on us.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
I once thought about quitting — quitting events, quitting my leadership role, even walking away from WOW altogether. After a tough season of criticism and setbacks, I felt defeated, and for a moment I believed maybe everything I was building wasn’t good enough.
But I changed my mind.
Instead of giving up, I chose to listen, learn, and grow. I accepted the criticism, even the negative parts, and used that energy to push forward. What was meant to break me ended up shaping me. I turned the negativity into motivation, and it made WOW stronger, more focused, and more impactful than ever.
I didn’t quit — I evolved.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what truly matters to me is people — uplifting them, supporting them, and helping them see their own greatness. They know my heart is rooted in compassion, service, and unity. They’ve watched me pour into my community, fight for the elderly, stand up for children with autism, and show up for anyone who needs encouragement.
They would tell you that loyalty, sisterhood, and purpose mean everything to me. That I care deeply about creating safe spaces where people feel valued, empowered, and loved. And they would definitely say that when I believe in something — or someone — I give it my whole heart.
Because for me, what matters most is making a difference in the lives of others.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
Some people chase wealth, status, and recognition — but I’ve learned that the real value in life comes from the small things. The quiet acts of kindness. The moments that put a smile on someone’s face. The time you take to listen, to show up, to help someone who can’t give you anything in return.
I know that true impact doesn’t always come with a price tag. It comes through compassion, service, and heart. Many people overlook this, but I’ve seen firsthand how a simple gesture can change someone’s entire day — sometimes even their direction in life.
That is what I understand deeply:
the greatest gifts we give don’t cost a thing, but they mean everything.
