Joanna Dreiling shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Joanna, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with children! While I don’t have any of my own yet, I’ve been spending a lot of time with my friends and family members with younger children. They’re seriously just so fun! When I’m with them, I learn so much about the capacity to be present and go with the flow. I love how they teach me so much about imagination, wonder, and always remind me to see the world through a child’s eyes of openness.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Joanna, and my brand, Agape Amplified, exists at the intersection of home organization and personal transformation. What makes us unique is that we don’t just organize your space – we use your home as a tool for deeper transformation, integrating somatic intelligence, wealth coaching, and trauma-informed practices to help you create a life of flow rather than chaos. We address not just the physical clutter but the emotional and spiritual patterns that keep you stuck. I’m also launching The Humanhood, a new video podcast that represents my broader vision of building a movement of people who are committed to creating more kindness and love in the world through their own personal transformation.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who taught you the most about work?
My mother without a doubt. She’s one of those people who doesn’t stop moving, in a healthy way. Even as a single mother, she worked relentlessly within her male-dominated field to become a sought-after leader in the space. I feel so fortunate to walk beside her in some of that work today. Outside of her career, she worked to raise me and my brothers to be kind contributors to society while also bring joy into our childhoods and adulthoods. She learned her work ethic young from her parents, so it feels right that I did too.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Absolutely the most significant wound – one with physical, emotional depths – was being shot in the eye at 8, which left me half blind for the rest of my life. I wore a prosthetic shell over my injured eye for 15 years to “make it look normal,” yet I never felt normal. Becoming half-blind at such a young age always left me feeling very different, misunderstood, and out of place. What shifted for me was when I rooted myself in the strength and reverence of my personal experience and recognized how it fortified my character into the woman I am today.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
Unconditional love as a guiding principle of my life. I’ve found that adopting this as a way of being has allowed me to be more centered and operate with more equanimity toward the world around me. There’s much less hate, judgment, and anger in my heart. The road doesn’t rage and the hater’s hate doesn’t hit.
Similarly, “Humankind, be both.” Being fully human. Being kind. We really need more of both.
And finally: Everyone matters, no matter who they are, so treat them like they do. That’s one my mother lives by that I also aim to embody.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What light inside you have you been dimming?
What intuitively comes up is the light of my words and voice as a speaker, writer, and creative in general. For a while now, I haven’t been sharing the fullness of my wisdom on my platforms. I’ve also been rarely creating outside of business, feeling from being so pigeoned-holed by it. I miss creating just for the joy of creating!! Painting for the joy of painting. Writing for the joy of writing. I know I’ll write books and give keynotes one day – I’ve just been so nervous to step into it. I rarely do I ever share much about myself, which is why I decided to lean into this.
