Life, Values & Legacy: Our Chat with Marc Lainhart The Intuitive Prospector™ of West Seattle

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Marc Lainhart The Intuitive Prospector™. Check out our conversation below.

Marc, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
There are common misconceptions about what psychic mediums do, leading to misunderstandings about my business and my intentions. Psychic mediums use methods such as palm reading, crystal gazing, oracle cards, dowsing rods, and clairvoyance, and this diversity can confuse those unfamiliar with the field. Media portrayals tend to be sensational or negative, fueling unhelpful stereotypes. Some religious beliefs also view psychic mediums’ abilities negatively, further influencing public perception. Additionally, concerns about potential exploitation can foster skepticism. These factors combine to create challenges in how my work is perceived.

Reports of fraudulent psychics can create distrust. People may then generalize that all psychic mediums are deceitful. Individuals who have had negative experiences may share their stories, amplifying skepticism. For this reason, I include testimonials from several clients over several years across all professional directories. I have no access to, or editing controls over, many of these sites, including my five-star reviews on Google. Reviews, testimonials, and my clients’ stories bring a sense of connection, peace, love, healing, and guidance to others seeking their own spiritual healing and inspiration. This is why people worldwide reach out to me for readings, lectures, workshops, and personal mentoring.

I always welcome and encourage feedback in every thank-you email I send after each reading. This practice has been part of my process since I turned professional in 2013. I always send a personal email after the reading, giving clients time to review and reflect on the messages I shared. It also allows them to rejuvenate. Being in service to Spirit, the Universe, and others worldwide is an honor and sacred work for me. I hope my messages of healing, hope, and love make a difference in their lives and in our world. By exploring and “Spiritually Prospecting” together, we find many “gems” during our precious time in a reading.

Throughout history, individuals accused of witchcraft or sorcery, including those with psychic and mediumship abilities, have faced persecution and even death. This history has created lingering negative views and cultural myths. Folklore, myths, and Hollywood movies often show mediums as malevolent, dark, or troubled. These images reinforce the idea that they are connected to evil forces. Concerns about exploitation and manipulation add to skepticism and misunderstandings. Humans often turn to fear or old beliefs for comfort when faced with change. On the spiritual journey, we learn to explore the mind and body to attune to psychic mediumship. Our intent is to serve and help others, even if they have not chosen to develop these gifts. This cycle repeats, as I like to remind others, “what we resist will persist, and the lesson repeats until it completes.”

Some religious texts warn against practices like divination. Followers may then view psychic mediums as engaging in forbidden or evil activities. Other ancient texts point to the expansion of human knowledge and consciousness. The fear of the unknown, combined with strict doctrines, can make anything outside the framework seem dangerous or immoral. Different cultures hold various beliefs about the spiritual world. In some, mediumship is respected. In others, it is stigmatized. Fraud in the psychic community can foster mistrust and cause people to label all mediums as deceitful. Some claim there is no empirical evidence for psychic mediumship. Others believe advances in science, medicine, and technology are changing minds, backed by data and the unknown.

People seeking guidance from mediums may be vulnerable or grieving. Critics argue that exploiting this vulnerability is unethical or malicious. Concerns about how psychic mediums influence decisions can make them seem dangerous or evil. In reality, for most psychic mediums, this is far from the truth. Like every human industry—from religion to charities to politics—there can be greed, control, fear, ignorance, and fraud. This field, with the intent of helping others, is not immune. That is why it is essential to review, check, ask around, and trust your gut when choosing a psychic medium to work with.

Many professional psychic mediums aim to provide comfort and guidance. However, society’s views are shaped by fear, misunderstanding, and history. Open dialogue, education, books, mentorship, and courses on psychic medium practices can help shift these perceptions in today’s opinionated world.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
In my career, I have spent much time with death and dying. This includes my own Near-Death Experience (NDE) in a river accident. I was present and held my grandma’s hand as she passed. I also experienced the tragic loss of both my younger brother, my older brother, and my father-in-law. These events have given me a front row seat to what society calls death.

On the spiritual path, we call death “discarnate,” meaning existing without a physical body, or “passing,” meaning moving from one state of matter to another, namely energy. As a retired First Responder with personal experience with death, the discarnate, and those who have passed, my passion to serve spirit has grown. My curiosity, conditioning, and drive have been strengthened. My goal is to “explore and discover through body, mind, and spirit” what is unknown or unseen and be the best messenger of spirit I can be with the time I have. I feel that this life is not the end. It is only one leg of an extraordinary journey—a true “Soul Adventure!”

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering and loss can impart valuable lessons that success often cannot. Resilience – Strength Through Adversity: Overcoming challenges builds inner strength and resilience, helping us cope with future hardships.

Empathy and Compassion – Understanding Others: Experiencing pain can deepen our empathy for others’ struggles, fostering stronger connections and compassion.

Perspective – Value of Life: Loss can shift our perspective on what truly matters, helping us appreciate relationships and experiences over material success.

Authenticity – True Self-Discovery: Difficult times often strip away superficial layers, revealing our true selves and encouraging us to live authentically.

Gratitude – Appreciation for Joy: Suffering can enhance our appreciation for moments of joy and happiness, making us more grateful for life’s simple pleasures.

Letting Go – Acceptance: Loss teaches us the importance of letting go, whether of people, dreams, or expectations, fostering personal growth and acceptance.

Humility – Ego Check: Suffering can humble us, reminding us that life is unpredictable and that everyone faces challenges, regardless of their success.

Purpose and Meaning – Finding Meaning: Many find a renewed sense of purpose after loss, often channeling their experiences into helping others or pursuing meaningful endeavors.

While success can provide validation and achievement, it is often through suffering and loss that we gain profound insights into ourselves, our relationships, and our place in the world.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What do you believe is true but cannot prove?
Some concepts that many people believe to be true but can’t definitively prove, but in my spiritual work, I see, feel, know, and experience them in my daily journey through what we call life. As of today, only 4% of science can be proved through mathematics and the Scientific Method, meaning that 96% of what we, as humans, do not know, cannot prove, or even know how to ask the right questions. That percentage of unknowing through spirituality and science can only increase! “Science is not only compatible with spirituality; it is a profound source of spirituality.” ― Carl Sagan.

Intuition – Many believe that gut feelings or instincts can guide decision-making, even if the reasons behind those feelings aren’t immediately apparent.

Existence of a Higher Power – The belief in a higher power or divine presence is common across cultures, yet it remains unprovable and subjective.

Love as a Fundamental Force – People often describe love as a profound and transformative force, but its essence and impact are difficult to measure scientifically.

Afterlife or Reincarnation – Many cultures believe in life after death or reincarnation, yet these concepts lack empirical evidence.

Collective Unconscious – Carl Jung’s idea of shared human experiences and archetypes resonates with many, but it remains a philosophical and psychological theory rather than a scientifically proven fact.

Synchronicity – The belief that meaningful coincidences occur at significant moments is often felt but not scientifically validated. “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.” -Albert Einstein.

Human Connection Beyond Physical Presence – Many people believe in the power of emotional and spiritual connections that transcend physical distance, but these are challenging to quantify.

These beliefs reflect the complexities of human experience, where intuition, spirituality, and emotional understanding often play significant roles despite lacking empirical proof.

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.” ― Carl Sagan.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
“A new day! A new opportunity! A day we have not seen before to use our intuition to prospect this wonderful world around us!” -The Intuitive Prospector™

Negative Self-Talk – Stop Criticizing Self: Replace self-doubt with self-compassion, mantras, and positive affirmations.

Toxic Relationships – End Unhealthy Connections: Distance myself from people who drain my energy or bring negativity into my life.

Procrastination – Stop Delaying Important Tasks: Focus on what truly matters and take action towards my goals without waiting for the “perfect” moment.

Overcommitting – Learn to Say No: Prioritize my time by declining activities or responsibilities that don’t align with my values or goals.

Comparing Yourself to Others – Stop Measuring My Worth Against Others: Focus on your own journey and embrace your unique path.

Living in the Past – Let Go of Regrets: Focus on the present and future rather than dwelling on past mistakes or missed opportunities.

Chasing Materialism – Stop Prioritizing Things Over Experiences: Invest in experiences and relationships, not material possessions.

Neglecting Self-Care: Make Time for Self: Stop ignoring my physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental health. Prioritize activities that nourish me.

Avoiding Difficult Conversations – Address Issues Openly: Stop avoiding tough discussions with loved ones. This is not easy, but I have found that open and honest communication can lead to deeper connections, forgiveness, and healing.

Fearing Change – Embrace New Opportunities: I stopped resisting change and being open to new experiences that can enrich my life.

I focus on what truly matters to me, and I embrace each present moment, for our awareness becomes the most fantastic agent of change, healing, and transformation along the many complex pathways of life!

“The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time,” -Abraham Lincoln.
