Let’s jump in: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I see myself on a path not a perfect or straight one, but a purposeful one. This past year challenged me, but it also sharpened my focus. I’ve gained clarity about who I am and what I want Millie’s Kitchen to represent. Every experience has helped me grow as a business owner and as a person. I’m not wandering I’m evolving and moving forward with intention.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Amelia, and I’m the owner and chef behind Millie’s Kitchen, a catering and private chef service specializing in southern, nostalgic cuisine. What started as a passion for cooking turned into a business built on resilience, consistency, and faith.

Over time, I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always look like speed sometimes it looks like discipline, patience, and continuing to show up even when business is slow. I’ve learned how to manage clients, pricing, time, and expectations, and most importantly, I’ve learned the value of believing in myself when things get hard.

What makes Millie’s Kitchen different is the heart behind it. I don’t just cook meals I create experiences that feel like home, comfort, and community. Every plate tells a story. I put love, culture, and intention into everything I serve. My clients don’t just get food; they get a memory.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who taught you the most about work?
My family the McElroy’s taught me the most about work. Watching them balance full-time jobs while also running businesses showed me what consistency, sacrifice, and determination really look like. That example shaped my work ethic and is a big part of why Millie’s Kitchen exists today. I approach my business with the same grit, discipline, and commitment to excellence that I watched growing up.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering grounded me in a way success never could. Growing up, I was truly blessed, and I didn’t experience much hardship. This past year was different. I went through a lot, but it shaped me instead of breaking me. I always knew I was strong, but that season revealed a level of strength, resilience, and faith I didn’t know I had. I thank God for that season, because praising Him even through the difficult moments is what prepared me for a greater level of purpose and success.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Loyalty, my favorite phase is “stay loyal to those that are loyal to you”.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My character would remain. Titles and possessions can be taken away, but my work ethic, my faith, and the way I pour into others through my food and my acts of service is who I truly am.
