We’re looking forward to introducing you to Genelle Holub. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Genelle, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
I am very proud that invitations from Vogue, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Tatler and House & Garden Magazines are coming in. I’ve enjoyed seeing my products in these magazines for the entire year of 2025. It’s a bonus that the editor of House & Garden is continuing to show my products in 2026.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
After more than 20 years in the skincare and beauty industry, I saw a clear gap: people need a “clean beauty destination” that treats real skin concerns while respecting skin wellness, lifestyle, and long-term aging. That’s why I created **Face It Skin**.
Face It is built on the belief that skincare and makeup should be “customized, intentional, and realistic”—not trend-driven or one-size-fits-all. As we age, our skin, body, and nervous system change. Aging differently means acknowledging those changes, adjusting intelligently, and choosing what actually works for *you.
As a Certified Nutrition Esthetician and Professional Makeup Artist, I’ve spent decades working hands-on with skin at every stage of life. I understand the challenges aging brings—and I know you don’t need to navigate them alone. Face It Skin exists to educate, support, and guide you with honesty and expertise.
Our products are formulated to the highest standards while remaining accessible to real lifestyles.
Face It Mineral Makeup is clean, skin-supportive, and multi-functional, featuring European-registered formulas designed to perform without compromising skin health.
Face It Skin is a neurocosmetic skincare line, inspired by our cult-favorite Luxe Serum. These products are designed to support both skin appearance and emotional well-being by honoring the skin–brain connection. Every ingredient is intentionally chosen to deliver results *and* a sensory experience that feels good to use.
This level of care has drawn clients from all walks of life—including a Hollywood couple who seek out our services whenever they’re in town.
You can explore our exclusive boutique formulations online, or—if you’re local—experience Champagne Shopping, a private, educational, one-on-one consultation tailored entirely to your skin and goals.
I am continuously working on spreading the word about supporting local first which provides jobs, respect and integrity to all of our communities.
Face It Skin products are proudly made in the USA, crafted with intention, and shipped worldwide.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
At age 8 I knew I wanted to be a makeup artist and work on skin. My parents never let me wear makeup even as a I got older and I had to sneak it to school. At 8, since I couldn’t wear real mascara I took apart a ball point pen, pulled the ink tube and spring out and used it as my mascara wand. I felt so powerful for my creativity!
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Hello younger self, “you were the best tomboy that embraced beauty.”
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Where do I begin?
1. That expensive luxury lines are better for your skin. WRONG. It does take some money for high-end ingredients made from nature but it doesn’t need to cost $300! You end up paying a 500% markup with more expensive packing/bling when the consumer needs to buy product based on the quality of ingredients. A fantastic cream can cost around $50-$60.
2. Celebrity must mean better. NO! The celebrity did not develop the product they just had a connection, money for marketing and someone holding their hand. America is so stuck on celebrity status they end up buying a mediocre product just because of the name. America “wake up” and purchase based on the ingredients not the name.
3. When a brand claims, “#1 Dermatologist recommended” often means a product is safe and non-reactive—not necessarily effective. While safety matters, most people seek professional care to improve their skin, not maintain the the problem of their skin. True skin transformation requires thoughtful formulation, active ingredients, and an understanding of how skin actually functions over time. Dermatologist go to school to study science of skin, pharmacology of treatments and skin diseases. They do not study specific skincare brands and attend seminars/lectures on cosmetic topics. An esthetician is obsessed with skincare and usually seeks out the best formulas for people with irritated or broken out skin who have already seen a dermatologist only to be recommended the #1 dermatologist product that doesn’t improve skin.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If immortality were real, what would you build?
A skincare and makeup factory for the public to make their custom skincare!
