We’re looking forward to introducing you to Najah Berry . Check out our conversation below.
Najah , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think one this for sure what’s often misunderstood is that softness means a lack of strategy. Pretty Skyn is built on intention, structure, and long-term vision. While the brand is feminine and luxurious, every detail is thoughtfully planned to create a sustainable, elevated business not just a beautiful product.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m the founder and creative director of Pretty Skyn Society, a luxury self-care and fragrance brand centered around femininity, confidence, and intentional living. Formerly known as Pretty Skin by Girl Code, the brand recently underwent a rebrand to reflect its evolution and elevated vision. Pretty Skyn Society was created for women who want their everyday routines to feel luxurious like a quiet reward for the life they’re building.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
From my perspective, coming into being 28 years old, I feel what can breaks bonds between people is a lack of communication, misalignment, and unspoken expectations. When people stop being honest ,with themselves or with each other, distance naturally grows. What restores bonds is clarity, accountability, and intentional effort. Growth requires grace, and strong connections are rebuilt through understanding, respect, and mutual alignment.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
After failing hard, I finally decided to changed my mindset about being in the makeup industry. I realized it was heavily saturated and difficult to build long term sustainability. Pivoting into body care felt more aligned and lucrative ,
these are everyday essentials with consistent demand. That shift taught me the power of choosing longevity over overcrowded markets.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the industry tells itself is that louder marketing equals a better product. In reality, longevity comes from quality, consistency, and trust. Another misconception is that success happens overnight most sustainable brands are built quietly, intentionally, and over time.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think one thing people may misunderstand about my legacy in the future is that it will be seen as only about money or ambition. In reality, it’s being built around growth, self-respect, and choosing better at every stage of life. My focus on business and financial stability comes from a desire for freedom, alignment, and evolution , not from leaving people behind, but from continuing to grow beyond what no longer fits.
