We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr. Krystal Vernee’. Check out our conversation below.
Krystal, so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What’s more important to you—intelligence, energy, or integrity?
Integrity, without question.
Intelligence can be learned, sharpened, and expanded. Energy can be cultivated and restored. But integrity is the foundation of everything, how you show up when no one is watching, how you make decisions under pressure, and how you treat people when there’s nothing to gain.
As a leader, entrepreneur, and woman building legacy-level work, I’ve learned that integrity creates trust, and trust is what allows intelligence to be heard and energy to be sustained. Without integrity, brilliance becomes manipulation and energy becomes chaos.
For me, integrity means alignment between values and actions, promises and delivery, vision and behavior. It’s what allows me to build businesses, partnerships, and communities that last—not just scale.
When integrity is present, intelligence has purpose and energy has direction. That’s where real impact is created.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m a serial womenpreneur, business strategist, consultant and CEO of Simply SHE. I help entrepreneurs turn their expertise into profitable, sustainable businesses by building clear offers, smart systems, and income strategies that don’t require burnout to succeed.
What makes my work unique is that I bridge strategy and identity. I don’t just help entrepreneurs make more money, I help them step fully into their CEO role with confidence, clarity, and alignment. After more than 20 years in entrepreneurship, I’ve seen too many talented entrepreneurs undercharge, overwork, and play small. My brand exists to change that.
Through coaching programs, live experiences, speaking, and AI-driven business education, I focus on simplifying growth, helping entrepreneurs build businesses that generate consistent cash flow while still leaving room for life, creativity, and joy.
At this stage of my journey, I’m especially excited about expanding my work around AI-enabled systems, scalable offers, and legacy-building for entrepreneurs who are ready to stop hustling and start leading on their own terms.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmother saw me clearly long before I fully saw myself. She believed in me without hesitation or conditions, even when my path wasn’t obvious to anyone else. Her support was steady, unwavering, and rooted in love, not expectations.
She never needed proof of my potential; she simply knew it was there. Every idea, every dream, every step I took, she encouraged it wholeheartedly. That kind of belief becomes a mirror. It teaches you to trust your own voice before the world validates it.
Much of who I am today, my confidence, resilience, and willingness to lead, was shaped by her faith in me. When I didn’t yet have the language for my purpose, she held the belief until I was ready to carry it myself.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a moment when I truly considered giving up. When I first started my fitness studio, things didn’t unfold the way I had planned or imagined. I had the vision, the passion, and the work ethic, but the results didn’t come easily or quickly. There were financial pressures, unexpected challenges, and moments where I questioned whether I had made the right decision at all.
What made that season especially hard was that from the outside, it looked like I should be celebrating, but behind the scenes, I was learning some of my toughest leadership lessons. I was forced to confront uncertainty, pivot when things weren’t working, and build resilience in real time.
I didn’t quit, but I did pause, reassess, and recommit with more clarity. That experience reshaped how I lead, how I plan, and how I define success. In many ways, the studio became the place where I stopped chasing perfection and started building sustainability, and that shift changed everything.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whom do you admire for their character, not their power?
I deeply admire Michelle Obama, not for her power or title, but for her character. She leads with grace, integrity, and an unshakable sense of self, even under immense public scrutiny. What stands out most to me is her authenticity, she never abandoned who she was to fit into who the world expected her to be.
Michelle Obama embodies quiet strength. She listens before she speaks, stands firm without being hardened, and uplifts others without needing the spotlight. Her commitment to service, education, and empowering women and young people reflects a values-driven life, not an ego-driven one.
She reminds me that true leadership isn’t about control or visibility, it’s about consistency, compassion, and choosing to do what’s right, even when it’s not easy.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I lived with purpose and led with integrity, and that I made room for other women to rise. That I didn’t just build businesses or brands, but helped people believe in themselves, see their value, and move with confidence toward what they were called to do.
I want the story to be that I showed up fully, as a leader, a mentor, and a woman who wasn’t afraid to evolve, and that I used my voice, my experiences, and my platforms to create opportunity, not just success.
If the legacy is that I helped others build something meaningful, sustainable, aligned, and reminded them they were capable long before they believed it themselves, then I’ll know I did what I was meant to do.
