Elisia Menjivar shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Elisia, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Working out and blasting worship music.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! I’m Elisia Menjivar—a mom, beauty entrepreneur, and founder of the Beauty and Grace Foundation. I’ve been in the beauty industry for 18+ years and own Beauty Bliss Studio, where I help women feel confident, seen, and celebrated.
My nonprofit serves survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, addiction, and homelessness by providing beauty services, essentials, and moments of dignity and hope. What makes my work unique is that it blends beauty with purpose—I use my craft to serve, uplift, and restore confidence in those who need it most.
Right now, I’m focused on expanding our outreach and partnering with more shelters so we can impact even more lives.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
As a child, I believed I wasn’t enough. As I grew a little older i used to believe I had to shrink myself or be who others expected me to be. Now I embrace who I truly am, and I stand confidently in the woman I’ve grown into. I know my voice, my story, and my purpose matter.
What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds of my life came from childhood—feeling unseen, unheard, and believing I had to be the strong one and earn my worth. I carried a lot of responsibility and a quiet belief that I wasn’t enough.
My healing has come through faith, inner work, therapy, motherhood, and breaking generational patterns. God has shown me that I don’t have to be perfect to be used—I just have to be willing. Serving others has also healed me; every time I help restore someone’s confidence or dignity, a piece of my own story is redeemed.
Those wounds no longer define me—they’ve become part of my purpose and the compassion I lead with today.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My closest friends would say that what matters most to me is my faith, my family, and using my gifts to serve others. They know I care deeply about people feeling loved, supported, and seen.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell the story of a woman who loved God, loved her family, and used her life to serve others with purpose and compassion. Someone who showed up with kindness, brought hope into dark places, and made people feel seen, valued, and confident. I hope my legacy is one of faith, love, and impact—a life that lifted others and left the world a little better.
