We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jada Gipson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jada, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from God and taking life one day at a time. I’m still a work in progress, but experiencing challenges at a young age shaped my perspective. Everyone faces hardship differently, and I’ve learned that it’s not about what you go through, but how you choose to face it — turning battles into lessons and, often, blessings in disguise

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
What I do:
I currently work in office administration, which has honed my organizational and leadership skills. Beyond that, I’m deeply passionate about creating positive change in the community.
What’s exciting or special:
I want to start a non-profit dedicated to supporting children and mothers who have faced traumatic situations, such as abuse or homelessness. I want to provide them with therapeutic support and essential resources, helping them rebuild their lives with compassion and dignity. This is something I definitely want to do in the future.
What I’d like folks to know:
I’m driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact and to give back to those in need. While I’m currently focused on administrative work, my heart and efforts are always geared toward uplifting others and creating a supportive environment.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience taught me how to keep going even when life felt uncertain or overwhelming. For anyone early in their journey, I’d say resilience is built by taking things one step at a time and allowing yourself to grow through challenges rather than giving up when things get hard.
Empathy has shaped how I connect with people and understand their experiences. It’s especially important when working with others or serving a community. My advice would be to listen more than you speak and approach people with compassion—everyone is carrying something you may not see.
Adaptability has been essential, especially as I’ve navigated different roles and responsibilities. Being open to learning new skills and adjusting your plans when needed can open doors you didn’t expect. For those starting out, staying flexible and willing to learn can make all the difference.
Together, these qualities have helped guide my journey and continue to shape the direction I’m moving toward.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Absolutely, I’m eager to embark on this journey of establishing a nonprofit. While I’m still in the early stages and learning the ropes, I’m genuinely passionate about making a difference. I’m also fortunate to have a network of supportive individuals who can guide me through the process. My goal is to gradually build the foundation and collaborate with those who share the same vision. I’m excited to learn and grow, and I’m committed to taking the necessary steps to bring this vision to life.
