Meet DJ Ragland

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DJ Ragland. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

DJ, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?

It all started from my unwavering desire to be the best. I realized that the only way to achieve greatness was through relentless hard work, as I firmly believed that hard work truly pays off. I am witnessing some of the positive outcomes of my efforts, but I am aware that there is still a long journey ahead.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

I’m a film producer based in Georgia, where I run The DJ Entertainment Studios, a movie production company. We currently produce films and TV shows for theatrical releases and streaming platforms like Tubi and Amazon Prime. Our upcoming series is DJ’s 706, and our upcoming film for theatrical release is DJ’s ROCKY: Dawn of the Mafia.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?

First and foremost, avoid spending money on unnecessary equipment and only invest in what you genuinely need. Secondly, mastering the fundamental principles of filmmaking is crucial, as it serves as a solid foundation for your success. Lastly, exercise caution when selecting cast and crew members to join you on your journey, as not everyone is not there to elevate you. Some individuals may have ulterior motives and are more interested in undermining your progress.

Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?

Robert Poole has undoubtedly been the most instrumental person in my journey, providing both professional assistance with my business and personal support as my closest friend. When introducing him to others, I often describe him as my “TV friend” because it’s rare to find a genuine friend in real life, except on television.
